Hamilton: An American Musical, here’s the basic story:

Written by: Lin-Manuel Miranda — he wrote the music, lyrics, and book. Miranda began developing Hamilton in 2008 and worked on it for about 7 years, with the show premiering Off-Broadway in 2015 and opening on Broadway that same year.
When was 28 when he began working on Hamilton in 2008, and 35 when it premiered in 2015.
It is about Alexander Hamilton, one of America’s Founding Fathers and the first U.S. Secretary of the Treasury.
What was Miranda’s main historical source? The musical was inspired by Ron Chernow’s 2004 biography Alexander Hamilton. Miranda read the book in 2008 and became interested in turning Hamilton’s life into a musical.

The interesting part

Miranda didn’t simply recreate Chernow’s book. He adapted Hamilton’s real life into a hip-hop/R&B musical, using a deliberately modern, racially diverse cast to tell the story of the American Revolution, the founding of the United States, Hamilton’s political career, his relationships, and his eventual death in a duel with Aaron Burr.
