I’ve been asked before about my favorite memory as a child. The consistent memory that comes to mind is how it felt to be in my mama’s arms when I was sick. I loved (and still love) the smell of perfume on her skin. I loved hearing her voice flow through her while my ear was pressed to her chest. I loved feeling her gentle hands caress my skin to comfort me. I loved knowing that I was safe and cared for. She is kind, gentle, loving, supportive. She is fun, playful, and has the cutest laugh when she’s being sprayed with water or air. She is a generous hostess and her food tastes amazing because she puts magical love into her creations. She makes the best salads, by the way. She is the kind of person that remembers her clients’ cat’s names and goes above and beyond when they have special needs/requests. She works like a true Portuguese daughter of my hard working grandparents. She is excellent in all she chooses to do. She is a great business owner and creates a warm and inviting space for her co workers and clients. She creates family wherever she is. She’s my mama and Leandra and I are blessed to be her daughters.
