3 mistakes to avoid after you get your hair colored:

1.) Washing your hair right away. Waiting a day or two can help your gloss/color stay longer!

2.) Using high heat with your hot tools. This can fade your color (sometimes instantly) and make your color warm. It can also damage any freshly blonded hair that is still in shock!

3.) Skipping using colored-safe products. This can cause color to fade and/or the hair to feel dry. Taking care of your hair in between appointments will also help determine best results at your future appointments!

Things we wish our clients knew before we lightened their hair!!

1. Good blonding takes time:

-Going from minimal highlights to lots of blonde throughout the hair may take one long hair appointment or multiple hair appointments depending on the length, thickness, and how detailed the foiling needs to be to get the desired look. We can decide this in a thorough consultation after we know exactly your goal for your hair. You most likely will not be in and out of the salon in two hours.

2. Purple shampoo will not make your hair lighter:

-Purple Shampoo doesn’t lift hair any lighter, it just changes the tone to appear less warm. Purple shampoo is also meant to be used after a first wash with your normal shampoo and then followed by a conditioner.

3. Clarifying & Purple Shampoo will keep your blonde bright and the brass away:

-Clarifying shampoo will keep all the hard water, pollution, and heavy yuck out of your hair while purple shampoo will leave your blonde toned beautifully to keep your hair appearing bright like you just got it done.

4. Chemical damage and breakage are two different things:

-Chemical damage can come from leaving foils in too long (or being under a dryer when not necessary or too long) or overlapping already previously lightened hair. Breakage can be on lightened hair BUT may not be from lightening. Other factors like heat, sun, bad products can cause breakage to your beautifully lightened hair.

5. Your stylist will keep your hair health while blonding BUT you have to take care of your hair at home to avoid damage:

-Your stylist is going to do their very best to keep your hair the healthiest while blonding but damage can be taking place after your appointment. Going home and using products with fillers and poor quality ingredients can cause your hair to be deprived of what it needs and it can break off.
-Too much heat with no protection can be a factor.
-If you get snarly hair in the shower and do not use a leave in conditioner to detangle the hair you may be causing breakage by brushing through the hair without help.
-Not knowing what your hair needs and using the wrong products can also cause ha
