Do you Remember
where you were on 9/11/2001.

I do.

I was in school. 3rd grade. I was 9 years old.

As a child that young, I was never told the exact events that happened that day. What I do remember is our teacher excusing herself from our classroom. She was gone for quite a long time. None of us knew where she went. Then she came back and said “okay everyone we’re not having class today, we’re going outside for the rest of the day”. And we did. None of the teachers told us why, just that it’s a special day and we had recess literally all day.

I think about this day every 9/11.

As I became an adult, I learned the significance and the details of what happened. And every year now, I get emotional. Rewatching the tragic events on tv/social media, I shed tears everytime.

9/11 is something I’ve shared and talked about with my now teenage son for years, and when my daughter is old enough I will share with her as well.

Today, we Remember ❤️🤍💙
