If you feel like you’ve tried everything for your acne, but nothing’s working, this is what you should actually be doing:
I know the gut response is throw every “acne relief,” “oil control,” + salicylic acid product at your skin, but a balanced routine is actually going to get you further faster.
🪩 Glycolic Acid 🪩 helps clear clogged pores, smooth texture, + reduce both inflamed + non-inflamed breakouts (it deserves just as much credit as salicylic)
✨ Mandelic Acid ✨ gentle + antibacterial, especially great for sensitive + hyperpigmented acne scars (once again, don’t just depend on salicylic doing all the work)
🌿 CBD 🌿 calms inflammation, regulates oil production, + fights bacteria
🧴 Retinol/Retinal 🧴 increases cell turnover to keep pores clear, reduces inflammation, + fades acne scarring
🧂 Sulfur 🧂 reduces oil + kills bacteria (especially effective for deep, cystic, or hormonal acne)
Acne forms from a combination of factors, so treating it with one ingredient usually isn’t enough.
I can help build a routine that’s customized for you. Using the right combination consistently will clear your skin.
Consistency > intensity every time.
Acne is a skin disease, treat it properly.

“Sunscreen causes cancer.”
…yeah, let’s talk about that.
This thought process didn’t come from nowhere, it blew up after lawsuits involving brands like Neutrogena, Aveeno, Banana Boat, and Coppertone
☀️ In 2021, certain aerosol sprays were recalled because they were contaminated with benzene, a known carcinogen.
But here’s the part that people twisted:
Benzene is NOT a sunscreen ingredient.
It was a manufacturing defect in specific batches (mostly sprays), NOT a danger of sunscreen itself.
Let’s get the facts straight:
🌞 Daily SPF use reduces risk of melanoma by up to 50%
🌞 Yes, some ingredients can be absorbed into the bloodstream but absorption does not equal harm
🌞 There is no credible evidence that sunscreen causes cancer
What actually DOES increase your cancer risk?
Unprotected UV exposure. Every time.
If you’re skipping SPF because of fear, you’re not “avoiding toxins.” You’re actually just increasing your risk.
Sunscreen doesn’t cause cancer. It helps prevent it.

Mandelic acid is one of my favorite ingredients for treating acne AND hyperpigmentation at the same time.
This alpha hydroxy acid is:
🦠 antibacterial
🔥 anti-inflammatory
🤎 safe for sensitive + deeper skin tones
If dark spots, melasma, or acne marks are lingering longer than you would like, mandelic acid might be the ingredient your routine is missing.
Products I recommend most often in the treatment room:
🫧 Idyllic Cleanser
🍯 Honey Brightening Cleanser
✨ Mandelic Brightening Serum
Comment “MANDELIC” if you want help choosing the right one for your skin.
Every night is girls night at my studio in Cincinnati. 💕✨
It’s officially women’s history month.
If you’ve been here a while, you know I went from working in a very male dominated field where I was often the only woman in the room to a “pink collar” job + I am so glad I did every single day. It’s truly a dream to help women feel their most confident.
Thank you for being here.
💗
If you feel like you’ve tried everything for hyperpigmentation, but nothing’s working, this is what you should actually be looking for:
✨ Exfoliants that target excess pigment
Mandelic + Lactic Acid = increase cell turnover to get rid of dead cells faster so new, clear skin can come to the surface.
✨ Tyrosinase inhibitors (this is KEY)
Azeloglicina + Alpha Arbutin + Kojic Acid = prevent future discoloration + fade existing dark spots.
✨ Barrier + inflammation support
Niacinamide + Hexylresorcinol = calm inflammation, regulate oil, + brighten more effectively than hydroquinone (without the harshness).
✨ Stable Vitamin C = Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate
Protects from UV damage + supports collagen while brightening.
✨ Retinol / Retinal / Retinaldehyde
Boosts cell turnover, improves tone, + supports healthy, even skin.
Hyperpigmentation is one of the most stubborn skin conditions + it is notoriously hard to get rid of. Prevention is easier than correction + sunscreen is always your first line of defense! After that, it’s about combining the RIGHT exfoliation + tyrosinase inhibitors + inflammation control.

If adult acne has cost you more than you want to admit, you’re not alone. 🫂
Most of my clients come to me after trying:
• viral products
• aggressive treatments
• “miracle” acne fixes
• DIY routines that promised fast results
Instead of clear skin, they’re left with:
• more breakouts
• a damaged skin barrier
• scarring + post inflammatory hyperpigmentation that won’t fade
Here’s the truth most brands won’t tell you:
Throwing random products at acne often makes it worse.
Adult acne is an inflammatory skin disease.
Clear skin doesn’t come from doing more.
It comes from doing the right things in the right order, with a plan designed for your skin.
If you’re tired of wasting money + still seeing no results, let’s change the approach.
🤍
Book a 🆓 Skin Consultation + we’ll create a treatment + home care plan that protects your barrier, treats acne properly, + helps marks fade for good.

Adult acne is not your fault + it’s time we stop treating it like it is. 💟
If you’re breaking out in your 20s, 30s, 40s (or beyond), it doesn’t mean:
• you’re doing anything wrong
• you’re not trying hard enough
• you need to “just wash your face”
Adult acne is a chronic inflammatory skin disease.
It’s influenced by hormones, stress, genetics, lifestyle, + how your skin barrier functions, not your worth or hygiene.
You didn’t cause it + you don’t need to punish your skin to fix it. 🎆
You can’t hate your skin into changing. Change comes from education, consistency, + a treatment plan designed for your skin.
If you’ve been blaming yourself, consider this your permission to stop.
There is help. There are solutions. You are not behind.
🤍
If adult acne has been determining your confidence, let’s talk. Book a 🆓 skin consult + we’ll create a plan customized for your life.
