🏃♂️ Running Is More Than Just Legs. It’s a Full-Body Connection 🏃♀️
Using concepts from Thomas Myers and the Anatomy Trains system, we can better understand why pain, tightness, or weakness during running isn’t always coming from where you feel it.
The body functions through interconnected myofascial lines that transfer force from head to toe. During running, several lines work together:
🔹 Superficial Back Line – Helps propel you forward by storing and releasing energy through the calves, hamstrings, and back.
🔹 Superficial Front Line – Assists with posture, hip flexion, and maintaining an efficient stride.
🔹 Spiral Line – Controls rotation and stability, helping you maintain balance with every step.
🔹 Lateral Line – Keeps your pelvis level and prevents excessive side-to-side movement.
🔹 Deep Front Line – The body’s core stabilization system, providing balance, breathing efficiency, and control during movement.
When one part of a fascial line becomes restricted, the body compensates elsewhere. That “tight calf” may actually be related to the hamstring, hip, core, or even the opposite shoulder.
At Scheiding Sports & Rehabilitative Massage, we don’t just chase symptoms, we evaluate the entire movement chain to identify where dysfunction begins and how it affects your performance.

Some much needed family time to start the summer right. 🤙 ☀️
⚡️ Introducing the AcuPen: Another Tool to Help You Feel Your Best ⚡️
At Scheiding Sports & Rehabilitative Massage, we believe that no single treatment is a magic solution. Recovery is often about combining the right tools, techniques, and treatment approaches for each individual.
One of the tools we utilize is the AcuPen, an electric stimulation device that sends targeted impulses into muscles and surrounding tissues. These impulses may help:
✅ Calm irritated nerves✅ Reduce muscle tension and guarding✅ Improve muscle activation✅ Increase circulation to targeted areas✅ Support recovery from pain and injury✅ Complement manual therapy and rehabilitation efforts
Is it an end-all, be-all treatment? Absolutely not.
But when used appropriately, the AcuPen can be a great addition to a treatment plan and another way we go the extra mile for our clients. Sometimes it’s the combination of small advantages that leads to big improvements in how you move, recover, and perform.
We’re committed to providing more than just a massage, we’re committed to finding the tools and techniques that help you achieve the best results possible.

Pain isn’t always the problem… sometimes it’s just the messenger. 👀
With shoulder pain, the body rarely works in isolation. Restrictions or dysfunction in one area can create tension patterns throughout multiple myofascial lines affecting the neck, rib cage, spine, hips and even down into the opposite side of the body.
Using concepts from Thomas Myers, we can see how the body is connected through continuous fascial chains. A shoulder injury may overload:
* The Spiral Line
* Functional Lines
* Deep Front Arm Line
* Superficial Back Line
…causing compensation patterns far away from where the pain is actually felt.
That’s why treating only the “painful spot” doesn’t always solve the issue.
The source of dysfunction may be above it, below it, or even across the body.
🧠 The body functions as one connected system not isolated parts.
✅ Improve movement
✅ Restore fascial glide
✅ Reduce compensation
✅ Treat the chain, not just the symptom

Happy 30th Birthday to my beautiful wife ❤️
It’s crazy to think I’ve now been with you for over half of your life and somehow every year I’m still finding more reasons to love and admire you. Watching you grow into the woman, wife, and mother you are today has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.
This past year especially I’ve been so proud of you. Nursing school has pushed you in every way possible but you’ve handled it with so much strength, determination and heart. Even on the hard days you kept showing up for our family and for your dreams.
You are the most caring person I know. You would do absolutely anything for the people you love and everyone around you feels that. Our kids are so lucky to have you as their mom and I’m so lucky I get to do this crazy life with you. You truly are the best mom, my best friend and the heart of our family.
30 looks incredible on you and I can’t wait to celebrate this birthday and so many more together. Here’s to all the memories we’ve made and all the ones still ahead of us. I love you always ❤️

🎉Happy 13th Birthday to my girl.
I honestly can’t believe you’re already 13. Watching you grow into the person you are has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. You are funny, strong, hardworking, caring, and God truly blessed me with the best daughter I could have ever asked for.
You make people laugh everywhere you go, you care deeply about the people around you and you handle challenges with a strength that amazes me every day. I’m so proud of the young woman you’re becoming.
No matter how much you grow up, you’ll always be my little girl. I hope this year brings you confidence, happiness, unforgettable memories and everything you deserve.
Love you more than words can explain! Happy 13th Birthday Sis!❤️

⚽️Most people look at a soccer kick like the first image…muscles firing individually.
You see:• Quads = extend the knee• Hamstrings = control the leg• Glutes = power
That’s not wrong but it’s incomplete.
The second image (based on Thomas Myers’ Anatomy Trains) shows something deeper. How the body actually moves as a connected system.
Instead of isolated muscles, you’re seeing myofascial lines:• Superficial Back Line = deceleration & tension storage• Spiral Line = rotation + torque (this is where power really comes from)• Deep Front Line = stability + control
🔥 Here’s the real difference:
Muscle restriction= local problem→ tight quad, strained hamstring, weak glute→ symptoms show up where the issue is
Fascial restriction= global problem→ tension anywhere along the line (foot, hip, core, even opposite shoulder)→ pain or limitation shows up somewhere else
Example: A “tight hamstring” might actually be coming from→ restricted calves (back line)→ poor trunk rotation (spiral line)
So you keep stretching the hamstring… and nothing changes.
💡 Takeaway: Muscles create movement Fascia distributes it
If you only treat muscles, you chase symptoms.If you treat fascial lines, you change movement.
