Salon Capelli is celebrating 25 Years in business. So hard to believe. Time just goes by so fast.
Here’s a little back story of how it got started.
When I think back, 25 yrs ago, I was a single woman (dating Bill Faulhaber), no children, working as a hairstylist at E-jay’s Hair Salon for 10 yrs and wanted more for my career. It was Bill who talked me into opening my own salon. He knew I could do it, before I even did. My boss at the time caught wind of my interest, and as the hair industry sometimes goes, I was fired. 😋That was the best thing that could have happened. It gave me that extra push to get serious about opening a salon. So, my father and I sat down, started a business plan, and in the meantime, Bill’s mom, Deborah Nurre (my now mother in law) owned a 2 chair salon called Step 3 Hair design. She graciously invited me to work out of her salon, while I searched for a location, and started on the process of my business. The location I chose could not have been any better. Little did I know, the owner of the plaza, Peter Wenzel of Wenzel Investments in Florida was going to be such a wonderful landlord to me and my business. Such a good man.
After hiring a contractor, approx one year later, my vision of MY salon, came to life. SALON CAPELLI opened their doors on October 17, 1998.
I have been very fortunate in my time of owning Salon Capelli, and there are 3 men that I could have never done it without. First and foremost my father, Ron Woprice. He has been my accountant, my advisor, my confidant. I always tell him that he is the back bone of my salon. The second person is Peter Wenzel, the owner of the plaza where Salon Capelli is located. For 25 yrs he has been so very gracious, kind, and generous. He always tells me “You make my plaza look good”.
The third and final is my husband, Bill Faulhaber. For 25 yrs he has been my sounding board, my rock, the one that I rely on, my maintenance man, and yes, even my punching bag.
There are a lot of things that go into owning a hair salon. First is dedication on my part as the owner. Second is having good, reliable, talented employees. The group I have now is all of that and more. Krista Johnston has been with me for approx 19 yrs. That is unheard of in my industry. She is absolutely my right hand man, and a fantastic hairstylist. Allisha Hedberg who has been with me for 11 yrs. A very talented hairstylist. A beautiful person inside & out. Julie Wellman, one of the most hardworking dedicated stylist that I have had the pleasure of working with. Christy Neal is a very creative and fun loving person. Loves her customers. Rose Campbell, has been in the industry approx 45 yrs. Talk about a sounding board and a strong woman. Not too mention wise. Thank you to all of my girls for being YOU! I love you, and appreciate you.
But the most important of all, are the clients that have walked through Salon Capelli’s doors. Thank you for your patronage, your friendship, and especially your trust in us. You mean so very much to us, and Salon Capelli.

Yes- salon's will reopen- at some point- different for every state, every salon.

What can CLIENTS do to help salons navigate a new 'normal' you ask?🤔

💥Know you were missed terribly and your stylists is grateful for your return....
💥Know safety measures were created for all involved.
💥Know the importance of coming alone, extra people in a salon compromises everyone.
💥Know your stylist cannot physically work 16 hour days 7 days a week, rest is essential for all..😴
💥Know your initial services will take more time. ⌚
💥Know that coming in sick isn't an option
💥Know that walk-ins will not be an option for some salons- call the salon before you leave home.📞
💥Know that rescheduling hundreds of clients will take time...🤔⌚
💥Know that when you arrive you will need to wait until your stylist gives you the go ahead before entering the building, having your cell phone handy in your car will help considerably.
💥Know that your stylist is thrilled to see you but doesn't want or need a hug, your presence is the best hug ever. 😷
💥Know that your health is the biggest concern.
💥Know that your stylist may choose to open at a later date than the state your in has allowed, being respectful of that decision takes an unimaginable load off his/ her brain and heart.
💥Know your stylist has already lost thousands of 💸💸 and has no desire to replace it with a ventilator for either of you, be patient. ❤
💥Know that if your health is already high risk, you need to wait, your health is more important..
💥Know that a 'soft opening ' will be anything but soft. 🙄
💥Know that your opinion of the entire situation won't change laws and rules necessary for everyone's safety are, keep the conversation to hair and how we can make you beautiful ❤
💥Know that while trying to connect with your stylist there are hundreds of others attempting the same thing, responses will be slow coming as your stylist is preparing everything and answering everyone simultaneously
💥Know, above all else, no one is more excited about your arrival than your stylist- help make it the best appointment ever!!!🙏❤🙏❤🙏

Together we can make this work safely for all❤❤

Hello Salon Capelli customers,
We just wanted to touch base with everyone and give you an update as to how we are handling all of this craziness.
We have had some requests, asking if we would be able to perform in home services. Unfortunately, we have a responsibility to abide by Gov. DeWines orders, and cannot risk performing services at this time. The Ohio State Board of Cosmetology has reached out to all of us in our industry, to explain that any stylist caught doing hair in their home, or the home of others, during quarantine, will have their license revoked, charged with a second-degree misdemeanor, fined $750, and risk 90 days in jail. This would not be worth the potential consequences to our livelihood.
So, with all of that being said, us girls at Salon Capelli, promise you that we also will not color, nor cut our hair as long as you can’t. We are committed to our clients, our salon, and our industry as a whole by showing off our natural roots. 😁
What you can do in the meantime?
1~ Limit heat styling and over shampooing and use a deep conditioning mask 2x a week.
2~ If you are battling with your roots, take advantage of temporary root sprays or powders. Brown eyeshadow works well for brunettes and dry shampoo works decent for blondes
3~ You can also accessorize with scarves, headbands, clips, etc....

Some of you have reached out, asking how you can help. Right now is an unprecedented time, an unsure time, but we remain positive and eager to get back to our salon lives, our salon families, and most of all YOU! Trust us when we say that we are very eager to get back to work as you are to get your hair done!

We appreciate all the love and support from everyone and are confident that we will be up and running again soon!!!!!
Until then, enjoy your time with your families, enjoy the slow pace, keep on praying, and just be.

Love from all of us at Salon Capelli
