A love letter to our clients through the Holidays -
You have already been thanked in person, but I want you to know how much that extra Christmas tip truly means to us as service providers, especially in years like this. In this economy, many of us are experiencing slower than usual workflow while others in our community are just struggling to get their own children taken care of for Christmas. And some of us are in that same boat with them. We are so grateful to see you on our books at all, to visit before the holidays and hear your stories of time well spent - and then with your extra warm smile and your “Merry Christmas,” you bless us with an extra gift we weren’t expecting, and help us to bless our families for the holidays as well. We are so grateful for your generosity, and for the impact you make with your kindness. For everyone who could not, you did. And we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for that 💕
To those of you who came to see us anyway, even when it was tight, even if you didn’t have an extra gift to give, we see you and we thank you as well! Every visit helps us provide for our families, and we’re honored you choose us to be one of your luxuries when you can.
And for those of you we haven’t seen who are just getting by, we get that too, and we can’t wait to see you when you can in the new year! And don’t be a stranger if your budget is different than it once was but you wanna do SOMETHING, let us know and we can come up with a plan to ball on a budget 😉
We love ALL of our clients, each and every one that makes this living possible, so thank you for your business this holiday season and we hope yours is blessed as well!
(If you’re a service provider and want to thank your clients as well, feel free to share!)

This is what it looks like to push yourself out of your comfort zone.
Everything about this image represents that for me - an outfit to match the MIA MUSA theme I wouldn’t have picked to wear otherwise. Posing/modeling for a photo. In a room full of beautiful, talented people who I didn’t know very well.
The result? This amazing image - where I feel strong, powerful, and confident. New connections and conversations that left me feeling inspired and worthy. And more exposure to the thing that’s been my biggest “comfort zone” road block - social media content creation.
As I’m writing this, I’m admittedly having a bit of a lightbulb moment. Because, when I think about what would have been “comfortable” instead? It’s all just negative self talk that for me, comes out when I think about being perceived by others. It’s insecurity and self sabotage masquerading as the safer choice.
Sometimes growth isn’t comfortable. But if you can push through, you may just surprise yourself with what you find on the other side.

Another in the books! hosts these really cool photoshoot/parties for creative entrepreneurs to get together, contribute their skills, and come away with it having made some new like-minded friends and some beautiful content. For this social, was featured on the models (and myself 💁♀️)! It’s so insanely valuable to surround yourself with people who have similar visions and goals as you - to learn from each other, inspire each other, and support each other - even if just for an afternoon. Between being a working mom and the pandemic, I haven’t gotten the chance to do that in a LONG time. So I can’t tell you how awesome it was to work with and meet so many inspiring people though this! I’m kind of kicking myself for the lack of content I ended up capturing myself, but after getting another chance to watch so many social media pros do their thing behind the scenes, I’m starting to get more of a feel for what/how to go about that!

Early on in my career as a makeup artist, I noticed that fairly frequently guests of our salon would check out their look and be really taken aback by how much makeup they were wearing. As someone who wears a full face of makeup daily, works with makeup daily, looks at makeup daily - a “natural” look might mean something quite different to a makeup artist than it might for someone who seldom wears much makeup at all. I really made it a point to make sure I honed my skills in the lighter/softer end of the makeup spectrum, and I’m so grateful that I realized this early on because it’s still feedback I hear of people’s experiences with getting their makeup done, and it’s something that’s helped me make many a bride, bridesmaid, mom, and grandma happy and comfortable with their makeup look. Sometimes it’s hard to gauge the amount of drama someone would be comfortable with in their look when you’re working with them for the first time, so if I’m sensing any apprehension I tend to start a little lighter handed, then amp up the drama if needed. I love the versatility in how much or how little you can make someone up to give them their “just right” glammed up version of themselves!

Textured updos are my favorite kind of updos. Working with the imperfections vs trying to eliminate them always makes for an awesome result!

I seriously love helping people feel like the best versions of themselves. For weddings where we are creating a formal and fancy look, and for things like the personal branding sessions I’ve been working on with A Moment A Lifetime]. It’s a whole other experience getting to come in and simply accentuate their best features and bring balance to whatever look represents their own unique personal brand of beauty in a way that’s gonna catch that light juuust right and have them looking awesome in their photos. I love the versatility this job brings me, and the beautiful people I get to meet and work with!

After many years of training and lived experiences, she brings these ancient practices backed by modern science to busy, exhausted women looking to do less and be more. Check out my latest blog post! I’ve been wanting to write something like this for a long time - these are the main pieces of hair care info I always try and pass on to my clients anyone I get chatting about hair with.
The 10 Most Important Hair Care Tips Everyone Should Know Most people first learn to care for their hair in childhood. Then maybe if you have further interest you’ve read things from magazines or somewhere on the internet, or (the best source in my biased opinion) from your hairstylist. But some people may have missed some key information, maybe their pa...
