Congratulations to Madeline and Tony on the birth of their baby boy, Vincenzo Antonio Ferrari! Vinny was born on June 13th and weighed 6lbs. 13oz. Mama and 👶🏻 are doing well and we couldn’t be more excited for Madeline and her family. We love you, girl. 😘

This week, our little salon in Hyde Park celebrates its 5th birthday. It’s hard to put into words how much this space means to us and so many of you who walk through our front door. We’ve been through so much together and have shared countless laughs - and a few tears - over the past five years. You helped make our shared dream a reality and we are forever grateful for your love and support. You’re not only an important part of what we do, but who we are. Each of you holds a special place in our hearts and we hope you’ll stop by to celebrate with us this week.

Starting tomorrow and continuing through Friday, we will be offering complimentary 🍾 and 🍪 at the salon from 1-4p each day. Whether you have an appointment or not, we hope you’ll pop in.

While we had hoped in the New Year to (finally) leave COVID-19 behind us, the reality is that the virus is still a concern and still having an impact on our day-to-day lives. In an effort to keep everyone safe, we have maintained a mask policy for over a year and a half. With that being said, we were really hoping to do away with our mask policy altogether beginning in January, but unfortunately we are not comfortable doing that just yet. Furthermore, as hospitalization numbers among children continue to rise and case numbers continue to increase among adults, we will be moving from a "mask preferred" to a "mask required" policy for all clients visiting the salon beginning on January 3.

We made this difficult decision for a number of reasons: One, all of our stylists have children and/or families at home. Two, one of our team members is expecting a baby in June. Finally (and to be completely transparent), we are all self-employed stylists who do not have the option of working from home or the benefit of sick leave if we test positive for COVID-19 (or any other illness for that matter). All of our households are greatly impacted financially if we are unable to come into the salon to see our clients, and we just can't afford to take the risk.

We truly do respect everyone having different views on this subject and this is definitely our least favorite part of our job right now. If you are not comfortable wearing a mask while in the salon, we kindly ask that you reschedule your appointment until we no longer require it. We hope you understand and will continue to support us as we navigate these continually changing circumstances. We know we couldn't do this without you and we honestly wouldn't want to. We value all of our guests and we hope you know we consider you to be much more than that - you're also dear friends.

Madeline is highly sought after for editorial and special occasion styling, creating modern shags with an organic feel, ghost layering, and hand-painted color. She is also certified in the Kacey Welch Method, specializing in the seamless blending of multi-colored sew-in silk wefts.

Madeline’s hours are Monday/Tuesday from 12-8p and Thursday/Friday from 9a-5p.

📣 COVID UPDATE 📣

In accordance with the latest CDC and county recommendations, we are encouraging both clients and stylists to wear a mask at all times while in the salon. We had hoped these days were behind us, but sadly, here we are. This post was difficult to write, but we want to make sure everyone who visits our little space feels comfortable, safe, and cared for.

We can’t thank you enough for all of your support and willingness to remain flexible throughout the pandemic.

You all are the absolute best.

🍾 HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🍾

For the past month or so, we’ve taken a break from IG to focus on our clients, our families, and ourselves. 2020 is a year almost everyone would rather forget, but to be honest, it was one of the best years yet for each of us here at Lightbox. Samantha became a mama, Ashley made a big announcement (and Archie is becoming a big sis!), and Autumn adopted a new puppy and moved into a mid-century modern home.

We are excited to see what 2021 holds for us and all of you. Thank you for all of your patience, flexibility, and support this past year. We made it to the other side. Together.
