Time and time again I have watched other nail artists on this platform run their e-files at 15k, 12k even 5k RPMs to do removals of tough products like acrylic and dip. One of the tricks I learned early in my career was to run my e-file as fast as it goes to remove and de-bulk product. Not only does this save me time in removing the product quicker, but my e-file actually runs so much more smoothly when it’s running at full speed vs low speed. An e-file running at low speed for removals of hard gel or acrylic is going to skip and jump around on the nail and is more likely to cause injury to the skin around the nail plate as well as friction burns caused by passing over the same spot multiple times.

Do yourselves a favor and crank up your RPMs when you do removals. There’s nothing to be afraid of. I promise you won’t lose control of your e-file, but you will find that you are saving time and your removals will be smoother.

When I’m not removing hard gel and I’m just debulking soft gel or gel polish, I still run this e-file at 40k RPMs. And those removals take me two minutes across all 10 nails. 😎
