*VERY IMPORTANT UPDATE*
I started my day at the salon today with a meeting, which ended up being an announcement that the salon will be closing in July, unless someone buys it. For the time being, I will not be accepting new clients until I know for sure I have a new place to work out of and when. The reason for this is that I want all of my clients to experience their services exactly how they should be, and not knowing whether or not I will be able to commit to the 6-8 week touch up after your initial appointment is not something I'm comfortable gambling with. For all of my existing clients, anything that is currently scheduled is safe and will be completed as normal. I can still get you in for any touch-ups, or color boosts up until July. Anything after that is where things get uncertain. I will either be moving into a new location, or if someone does end up buying the salon- seeing what their terms are and whether or not I can / will be staying. I will keep in touch with all of you and provide updates as I receive them. I appreciate everyone who has been so supportive of me and my career, and can't thank you all enough for being patient with me during this difficult transition. Mint has been my home for roughly four and a half years. I have loved the people that I worked with, the people I worked for, and every client I've had walk in through the door. I am honestly devastated, and this is the last bit of news I was hoping to receive. This is a salon that I honestly pictured myself continuing to grow with well into my career, and I had no intentions of leaving whatsoever. I know it's cheesy, but the girls there truly are my family and I love them so much. My heart is broken knowing that I likely won't be able to walk in those doors and hang out with my favorite people at work everyday anymore π
All jokes aside, the pain is actually pretty minimal. I know this is one thing that a lot of clients getting their brows done for the first time are a little nervous about. All PMU artists have their own methods and handle their procedures a bit differently. For me personally, I do not use any form of pre-numb on my clients. This means I will do the first 'pass' on each brow before applying a secondary numbing agent, which at this point moving forward you will be mostly- if not completely- pain-free for the remainder of the service. The feeling can be a little difficult to describe if you've never had a tattoo before (if you have, most say it hurts less), but I would say kind of like a cat scratch. The majority of my clients have never had any form of tattoo and they have all handled it very well! I honestly even have a couple that choose not to even use the secondary numbing agents at all. If you are nervous, just be sure to communicate with me and I will do everything I can to help you through it. We can take as many breaks as you need to, I can talk and tell stories the whole way through - or be quiet - or just turn on your favorite songs. Everyone has their own preferences and I promise to always do my best to accommodate what works best for you π©·

Spring appointments are running out! I will be out of the country part of next month, so I highly recommend booking in before I leave to ensure you still have enough time to heal your brows before your summer activities β±οΈπ
Booking is in Bio and DMs are always open π©·
Don't worry, Nikki is basically my sisterπ I couldn't resist doing this little prank with her π π©·

I'm FINALLY going to Finland! I've been wanting to go since I was a teenager and it's finally happening π₯² My fiance was given the opportunity to play at Steelfest, and we figured we'd just make a whole trip out of it! I'm very excited to watch him perform at such a big event, and finally explore Finland after roughly six years of *attempting* to teach myself the language!Β
What does this mean for clients/potential clients? While I'm away I will be less available. And by that I mean I will be enjoying a very much needed vacation, so unless the message begins with the word "EMERGENCY", I will be waiting until I return to check any messages. This also means if you want your brows healed before summer kicks off, you really need to get on the books before I leave. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions before 5/13! ππ©·

Doing my best to start including more photos of mapping! I tell all my clients that this is a part that you really have to use some imagination for, and to think of it like the lines in a coloring book. I draw in the "blueprint" to help get you an idea of what to expect, but during the actual procedure portion of the service, everything I do stays within the border.
This is the part of the service where you get to be as picky as you want to be. I know sometimes it can feel like you are being mean, nitpicky, or offensive towards my work, but it's actually the opposite! Unfortunately at this point in my life, I have not mastered psychic abilities so I have to rely on our conversations during our consultation process and any images that you show me to get an idea of what you like/dislike and accommodate those thoughts and preferences into what makes the most sense for your unique face and bone structure. There can always be some trial and error with this portion, and I put my trust in you to communicate any concerns or adjustments you would like to make.
What would *actually* be mean is lying to spare my feelings and telling me you like it when you really don't, then having me proceed with tattooing it on your face and then we're both upset π« This is a process we work on TOGETHER to ensure you're happy with your results, so don't ever hesitate to speak your mind!
I still have a few appointments available for the rest of this month, and early next month. I will be out of the country for a decent chunk of May, so be sure to get in before then! π©·π©·
Don't worry, not only do we go over aftercare in-person before you leave, I also give you a kit with everything you'll need for your healing process, including a copy of the instructions! My DMs are always open too if you have any questions π©·

Did you know you're already running out of time to have fully healed brows before summer starts? Now it's the best time to book that appointment you've been putting off. If this is your first time having your brows done, you will likely require a touch-up appointment 6-8 weeks after your initial brow-building session to develop saturation and make any adjustments necessary. After that, even though *visible* healing only takes roughly 2-3 weeks, the healing process actually takes at least 6 weeks (or more, depending on your skin). During those 6+ weeks, your PMU is the most at risk (poor retention/premature fading, uneven results, etc.), and your skin is incredibly vulnerable to sun exposure. And I get it - we live in Minnesota. There is only so much summer and sunlight to go around, and of course we want to be out in the sun and water as much as we are able. However, these are not the ideal conditions for healing PMU. This is why I stress so much to make sure your brows are healed before the summer hits, so that you can have as much time to enjoy the outdoors as you want (with a little sun protection thoughπ).
You can either book your appointment through the π on my page, or DM me to set up a free 15min in-person consultation.

Did you know that leaving a review and referring others is the biggest compliment you could give me? In this industry, word of mouth is the biggest source in building our business. Think about it--- When is the last time you tried a new business/service without looking them up first? Did you stop to read their reviews? Or did you just show up and hope for the best? Chances are, you spent at least a few minutes looking over reviews to make sure it was a good fit. Reviews are so important, and the best part is- They're completely free! I even make it super easy for you - I include a QR code inside of your aftercare kit so that all you have to do is scan and post!
