At Dorizata Massage, our work is rooted in care on and off the table. We believe access to care, dignity, and safety should never depend on where someone was born, how they speak, or the papers they carry.
We exist to support wellbeing in our community. That means showing up for our clients, especially in moments of stress, fear, and uncertainty.
Massage is not a luxury for many, it is a necessary tool for managing pain, trauma, and mental health. For that reason, we will remain open and honor all appointments currently scheduled.
At the same time, we are deeply concerned by recent federal actions and the growing use of enforcement practices that raise serious constitutional and human rights questions. History reminds us that when fear becomes policy and surveillance becomes normalized, freedom erodes for everyone—not just for the most vulnerable.
On Friday, 20% of all session proceeds will be donated to the Portland Immigrants Rights Coalition, a local organization supporting immigrant families through legal services and community based services.
This is our way of standing in solidarity while continuing to provide care to those who need it.
We believe community care and civic engagement are not opposing forces, they strengthen each other. We encourage our clients and neighbors to stay informed, speak up, and take care of one another.
With care and solidarity,
Dorizata Massage

Happy New Year! Let's start off 2026 with a little Origin story of how Dorizata got started.
Dorizata Massage is named after Mike’s grandfather’s village in Kefalonia, Greece—a place rooted in strength, resilience, and care for the body through hard work and daily life. That grounding influence shaped how we approach our work from the very beginning.
We started Dorizata Massage in 2019 because we wanted to create a space where therapeutic massage actually worked—for people who live in bodies that hurt, move a lot, sit too much, or carry chronic tension and pain.
We had both worked in settings where massage was rushed, overly standardized, or limited by someone else’s rules. That didn’t serve our clients—and it didn’t support long-term healing. So we built something different.
At Dorizata, we focus on clinical, results-driven bodywork. That means meeting each client where they are—using the right techniques, the right pressure, and the right approach for their body. The goal is always the same: reduce pain, improve movement, and help your body function better over time.
Just as importantly, we designed our business to support balance—for us and for our clients. When therapists aren’t burnt out, rushed, or in pain, the quality of care is better.
Dorizata Massage is about thoughtful, results-driven bodywork.
Rooted in tradition. Built for modern bodies.
And focused on helping you feel stronger, freer, and more at home in your body.

Dorizata, Greece is a small village on the island of Kefalonia and home to Michael's grandfather. We decided to name our business after Dorizata after spending time there in 2018.

We care about your health. One tip for keeping safe is to use grocery delivery by ordering online! 🍅🥑🥦🥬🍪🥕This will minimize risk and exposure to yourself and others. Mike and Amanda have been getting some extra income💲 and helping out those who can't or don't feel safe going out to do their own shopping by working for Instacart grocery delivery. We are taking pretty extreme precausions while going out to protect ourselves and others.😷 So much hand washing!👏 But it's getting us out of the house and providing income so we have a place to practice as soon as we can and feel safe to do so. Let us know if you or someone you know could use some assistance getting essential items at this time. We are more than happy to help out!.
