Mya 🫶🏼

I’ve been doing Mya’s hair since June of 2021, when she was just finishing 5th grade. Now she’s a junior in high school, and looking back through these photos has me feeling all the emotions. 🥹❤️

We’ve had so much fun with her hair over the years….from purples and vibrant pinks to balayage, pops of color, her beautiful quinceañera look, and now this gorgeous tipped-out burgundy balayage. ❤️‍🔥

When I look at these pictures, I see so much more than different hair colors. I see a little girl growing into a beautiful young woman right before my eyes.

One of my favorite parts of being a hairstylist is the relationships I get to build with my clients. I’ve had the privilege of watching Mya grow, hearing about her life, laughing with her, and being part of so many different moments along the way.

After I sent her mom that very first picture from 2021, she said something that completely touched my heart: “You helped her love herself.” 🥹❤️

I don’t think there is a greater compliment I could ever receive.

Mya, I hope you always know how truly special you are. You are kind, beautiful, talented and becoming such an amazing young woman. I’m so proud of the person you’re growing into, and I feel incredibly lucky that I’ve gotten to be a small part of your journey.

This color was inspired by one of my client’s greatest passions. She’s a wildlife photographer who loves traveling to Alaska to photograph coastal brown bears in their natural habitat.
We created a rich, dimensional balayage with soft sandy ribbons, warm earthy tones, and natural depth, capturing the beauty of the Alaskan coastline and the colors of her favorite animal.
