🖤 WHY DOES PERMANENT EYELINER LOOK THICKER WHEN IT’S FRESH?
Immediately after your appointment, permanent eyeliner will look darker, bolder and slightly thicker than the final healed result and that is completely normal!
Fresh eyeliner appears larger because:
✨ The delicate eyelid tissue may be slightly swollen.
✨ Extra pigment remains on the surface of the skin.
✨ The freshly treated edges look darker and more defined.
✨ As the skin renews, the surface layer gently flakes away.
Once the swelling settles and the skin heals over the pigment, your eyeliner will appear slimmer, softer and more natural. The color will also lighten as it settles beneath the healed skin.
This is why we create fresh eyeliner with the healing process in mind. What looks a little bold on appointment day is designed to soften into a beautifully defined lash line. 🫶🏼
Try not to judge your results during the first few days! Permanent eyeliner continues changing throughout the healing process, and the true healed result are evaluated around 4/6 weeks.

✨ WHEN IS IT TIME TO BOOST OR REFRESH YOUR PERMANENT MAKEUP? ✨
A refresh helps maintain your color, shape and those soft, beautiful details but timing matters! We never want to work over pigment that is still too dark or saturated.
🤎 BROWS
Most clients are ready around 12–18 months. Your brows should be noticeably faded before boosting. Working too soon can cause them to heal too dark, cool, grey or oversaturated.
💋 LIP BLUSHING
Lip color often lasts 2–5 years. Many clients consider a refresh around the two year mark when the color has softened or become less even.
🖤 EYELINER
Permanent eyeliner can also last 2–5 years. Refresh when the color has softened and you want to restore definition, not simply because another year has passed.
The calendar is only a guide. Skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, skincare products and pigment retention all affect fading. Sometimes the best thing I can tell you is, “Not yet!” That means I’m protecting your skin and your long-term results. 🫶🏼

Waiting too long can also affect your appointment. Once your boost time frame has expired, two sessions will be needed to rebuild the color and details so your work can look its very best.🧡
