March is Women's History Month and JNow magazine is celebrating with an entire edition all about women. You might see some familiar faces featured -celebrating the Women who impact our Downtown community.

Pick up a copy of the latest issue to read more. There are free copies available in a box outside The Old Mill Group Real Estate Building, in Horne Square and at the Front Desk of Town Hall.

Extended Road Closure – Fire Rescue Drive 🚧

Fire Rescue Drive will be closed beginning March 2, 2026, through April 13, 2026 due to utility work connected to the construction of the new Clayton High School.

Crews are relocating (moving) an existing sewer line as part of the construction of the new school. This includes installing a new underground pipe, testing it, and restoring the roadway once the work is complete.

🚦 A flagging operation will also be in place on Ellington Street, so drivers should expect minor delays in the area.

🚑 Emergency response times for the Clayton Fire Department and Johnston County EMS will not be affected by this closure.

Please plan ahead, use caution near the work zone, and allow extra travel time.

We appreciate your patience as this important project moves forward.

Tomorrow bring your little one to Main Street for Trick-or-Treat Main Street from 1pm - 3pm for candy, games and more with Clayton Parks and Recreation.

Halloween Night is also Last Friday- check their page for costume contest, special events and live music throughout town! The Night Market on the Square will be set up in Horne Square from 6-9pm. At 6:45 p.m., don’t miss the Thrill the World performance by the Clayton Arts Alliance - a high-energy community dance to Michael Jackson’s Thriller!

Latin American Festival-Clayton

We are hosting our annual Halloween event, Owloween, on our historic property in Clayton in hopes of bringing together the community and spreading awareness about our local birds of prey. There will be owls and hawks presented by our volunteers for education and photo opportunities. We will have food tickets from CMAC’s Rub Co. and lots of entertainment (Acrobatics, Fire Spinning, Face Painting, Tarot & Palm Reading, Yard Games, and more!). Come out and celebrate the spooky season with us and have some fun! This event is free and there will be beverages and candy for trick-or-treaters! We’re excited to present our new logo on our new merchandise!
