Catching up on some clients.

This lovely lady came in around the holidays. She has been in and our of the hospital with some procedures and in the top pictures, wanted to get something to make her feel beautiful after being laid up in the hospital. She mentioned she had never had an updo and asked if Kat (my beauty partner in crime!) and I would come up with something for her. She was so excited about how it turned out, she thanked us with tears in her eyes.

She came back about three weeks later to Kat and I for the perm she wanted. Since she was healing from shoulder surgery, she wanted something she didn't have to style much. We did a piggyback spiral perm to ensure every strand of her long hair looked great. She was so excited to leave with soft curls all over. Our client was so sweet and such a pleasure to work with.

Manic Panic, back in 1999-2000, is how I got my start dying hair. Cotton Candy Pink and Wildfire Red were my favorite colors to dye my hair. While I prefer to use different brands now, I will always have a soft spot for Manic Panic 💜🖤💜🖤

Former SCS student fights for ethnic hair to be taught in cosmetology program A former Shelby County School student is speaking out about the lack of diversity when it comes to the district’s cosmetology program.

Saturday had a client come in with multiple shades of blonde as a result of years of doing their own lightening. She didn’t have time to do a color correction but she needed the roots taken care of and hair toned to help blend the different shades together. After several hours and a deep conditioning treatment later, her hair came out looking so much more natural and sophisticated. Before picture provided by the client as we forgot to get the before picture....well, before 😂

What kept the late night crew late last night at ? So. Many. Perm. Rods. The client came in with long, fairly thick hair wanting small, tight curls so we did a spiral piggyback perm and used almost all of the perm rods in this size we had at the salon! It turned out great and the client left (tired but) happy with her new head of curls.

Had a friend come in on Saturday to get some galaxy colors put in. Since it was all virgin hair and it had been so many years since she had put any color in her hair, we opted to do a peek-a-boo look to see how she does. Provided her hair holds it well, we are going to do more color!
