This sweet client came in with skin that was dry, inflamed, and hot to the touch. All signs of an impaired barrier. Your barrier is the layer that keeps moisture in and irritants out, and when it’s compromised, tiny cracks form that lead to redness, heat, sensitivity, and dehydration. Before anything else, we have to focus on calming and rebuilding.

For her treatment, we kept it strictly restorative. No exfoliation. A heavy emphasis on Zemits cold therapy to bring the heat down. A cold gua sha mask over her cheeks for continuous soothing while the Circadia Marshmallow Whip + Green Tea mask worked on hydration and calming inflammation. I massaged everything in with ice globes and removed it with ice water soaked 4x4s to keep her skin in a cooled, healing state from start to finish.

When the barrier is supported, the redness softens, moisture levels improve, and skin finally feels safe again. Her after photo speaks for itself 🤍✨
