Why can’t Natural Hair just be Afro Hair? And why can’t Afro Hair just be Natural Hair? 🤔🧬
We’ve let mainstream narratives split the conversation, but it’s time to interrogate the terminology. If we don’t even have a consensus on what makes hair structurally or chemically “natural,” how did we let the industry separate the science of the Afro hair follicle from the concept of natural beauty?
Tonight, we are breaking down the semantics, the pseudo-science, and the actual biology of Black hair care.

Retail should not feel like begging clients to buy another bottle of something. And in a high-cost America,🇺🇸 clients certainly do not need a cabinet full of products they don’t understand, don’t need, and don’t know how to use. 🧴❌
For the final episode of our Client Hair Care in a High-Cost America series, TheHairOracle, Cheryl Morrow and KeyLoLo are flipping the retail conversation. 💸💰💰
Pros, what is your biggest struggle when it comes to selling retail?

You can send a cease-and-desist. You cannot cease my history. ✊🏾
We respected the request. We changed the name. We removed the branding. We kept it moving.
But what I will not do is act like the Afro suddenly became disconnected from the Black American history I was raised in, the people in my own family who wore it, or the freedom struggle that gave that hair enormous cultural meaning in this country.
This is not about stealing anybody’s brand.
This is about asking a real question:
When does protecting a brand become gatekeeping a celebration of culture?
I’m a Black American woman. Afro hair is not a marketing trend to me. It is family. Memory. Protest. Beauty. Work. History. And lived experience.
So yes, I’m going to speak about what happened. Respectfully. Factually. And unapologetically.
Because complying with somebody’s request does not require surrendering your voice.
The name changed. The community did not. 💚🖤❤️
The were right? # #
