I obviously overcommitted on the lentils for my chickens. 🙄🙄

So today is the first day, I just started fermenting my chicken feed. My girls haven’t hardly been laying since August, and my rooster is doing his job. So it’s time to do something else. I’ve changed feed to local feed, adding herbs into their food everyday and fermenting it. We shall see.

Making some Mullien/Horeshound Tincture.

Let me tell you a little bit about Usnea. This lichen is a very powerful antibiotic, antifungal, antimicrobial, and antiviral. It helps heal respiratory problems such as bronchitis, sinus infections, pneumonia, strep throat, and others. It is also used to help treat yeast infections, athletes foot, thrush, ringworm, and other fungal infections. I use a double extraction method to extract the medicinal properties from this lichen. It is used in spray bottles mixed with elderberry tincture to spray in throat if around people who might be sick, or if you feel an "icky" coming on. It prevents the virus from taking hold and multiplying. Usnea is also used to treat UTI's and kidney issues. You can take about 4-5 drops a few times a day for maintenance, or a dropper full 4-5 times a day if you’re ill.
