The unsung hero of the Pineapple Home Apothecary skincare line is Tabula Rasa, a bi-phase oil cleanser that I cannot live without in the summer months. Made of just two ingredients, you shake it, apply on dry skin, rub gently, add warm water and rinse off. It removes thick sunscreen, makeup, pollution and the day’s impurities.

Because of the shorter fatty acid chains and small molecular structure of main ingredient MCT oil, it penetrates the upper layers of the skin and is suitable for all skin types, including combination and acne-prone skin. It contains caprylic and capric acids, which naturally combat acne-causing bacteria and fungus without feeling heavy or greasy. MCT oil helps combat microbial growth, making it beneficial for clearing up breakouts and balancing the skin's natural oil production. It is also a natural anti-inflammatory and can help calm redness and flakiness associated with conditions like eczema and psoriasis.

When I was 5, my parents took me to Disney World. My little brother was too small to go. I remember nearly everything about that trip, but especially when we were exiting the gate at the Cleveland airport, because he ran toward me with a single silk flower: a Tiffany rose. My grandmother must have bought it for him to give to me and I still have it somewhere. I made a Tiffany rose soap in the signature peach/pink color these roses are known for. Dropping on the site soon.

Favorite February indulgence: my new subscription to the Franco-American newspaper, .3 which has me slowing down in the best ways. I love the recipes, the return to my first love as an Art Historian, and the beautiful tactile quality of this paper. Printed in Paris, it’s right at home in my home and has me inspired to enjoy all the details that make My Pineapple Home and lifestyle special.
