Back pain has many different causes and varies in severity. Some of those causes are:
• Mechanical and Postural Stress: Prolonged sitting, poor posture, repetitive bending, and limited movement variety can all place excess stress on the lumbar spine. Over time, this can lead to joint stiffness and muscle imbalance.

• Disc-Related Conditions: Disc bulges, herniations, or degeneration can irritate nearby nerves or alter spinal mechanics. Disc-related pain may stay localized in the low back or radiate into the hip or leg.

• Muscle and Ligament Strain: Sudden movements, improper lifting, or overuse can strain the soft tissues of the low back. While many strains heal, incomplete recovery can contribute to recurring episodes.

• Nerve Irritation (Sciatica): When lumbar nerves are compressed or irritated, pain may travel into the buttock, thigh, or leg, a pattern commonly referred to as sciatica.

• Lifestyle and Stress Factors: Sleep quality, stress levels, activity habits, and overall conditioning all influence how the spine functions and how pain is perceived.

At Pointe Village Chiropractic, we are here to help you find real relief. Whether your pain is from long hours at a desk, an old injury, or something that just crept up over time, there is often more that can be done than you might think.
Here are a few things worth knowing about back pain:

✔️ It is one of the most common reasons people seek care — you are not alone.
✔️ Early attention can make a big difference in how quickly you recover.
✔️ Chiropractic care focuses on addressing the root cause, not just the symptoms.

Why Do We Take Full-Spine X-Rays at Pointe Village Chiropractic? 💙
One of the most common questions we hear during an initial visit is: “Why are you looking at my entire spine if my problem is only in my neck?”
The answer is simple: The spine works as a connected system—not as separate parts.Think of your spine like the foundation of a house. If you notice a crack in one corner, you wouldn’t simply repair the crack without looking at the foundation. You’d want to understand why the crack developed in the first place.
The same principle applies to your spine. When one area of the spine isn’t moving properly, your body compensates. A change in pelvic alignment can affect the position of your shoulders and head. Limited movement in the cervical spine can also place additional stress on the thoracic and lumbar regions.
Over time, these compensations may contribute to muscle tension, restricted movement, and additional stress on other areas of the spine developing degenerative changes. That’s why we look at the entire picture.
Full-spine X-rays can help us evaluate spinal alignment, identify structural changes, and better understand how different areas of the spine may be affecting one another.
At Pointe Village Chiropractic, our goal is not simply to focus on where you feel pain today. Because when it comes to your spine, the whole picture matters. 💙

Nervous About Chiropractic Care? You’re Not Alone! 💙
Many people feel hesitant about chiropractic care because of common misconceptions or simply because they’re unsure of what to expect. The good news is that chiropractic care is a gentle, natural approach that may help with a variety of conditions. Here are some common concerns we hear—and what you should know:
😟 Fear of Pain Many people are surprised by how comfortable a chiropractic adjustment can be. Some patients may experience mild, temporary soreness afterward, but adjustments are designed to be gentle and controlled. If you’re nervous, talk with your chiropractor about your concerns before treatment.
🔊 Fear of the “Popping” Sound Sometimes an adjustment produces a popping or cracking sound. This is typically caused by a change in pressure within the joint—not bones being “cracked.” The sound itself is generally harmless.
💰 Fear of the Cost Many insurance plans provide coverage for chiropractic services. At Pointe Village Chiropractic, we’re happy to check your benefits and explain your coverage. We also offer cash-discount options.
⚠️ Fear of Making Things Worse This is a common fear, but it’s also unfounded. Chiropractors are trained professionals who understand the anatomy and function of the body, and they are well-equipped to diagnose and treat conditions.
Your questions and concerns are important to us. We want you to feel comfortable, informed, and confident in your care. If you’ve been thinking about trying chiropractic care but have been hesitant, we’d love to talk with you! Give Pointe Village Chiropractic a call and let us help put your mind at ease. 💙

Treating Infant Reflux With Chiropractic Care
Babies with infant reflux spit up much more than normal. This usually occurs just after feeding and is the most common symptom. Sometimes, they may even forcefully vomit. They frequently cough or gag when they experience reflux due to the acidic stomach contents irritating their throats. Hiccups and wet burps are also common.
The refluxing acid causes discomfort, leading these babies to show signs that could include:
• Fussiness during feeding
• Irritability shortly after feeding
• Arching of the back during or immediately after feeding
• Reluctance to continue feeding
Because reflux can interfere with feeding, these babies can suffer poor weight gain and possibly be diagnosed with failure to thrive. They may also have disrupted sleeping patterns because of the tendency of reflux to worsen when they are on their back.
At Pointe Village Chiropractic we use gentle spinal adjustments to correct misalignments in the spine. Misalignments, especially in the neck, can contribute to impaired nerve function, limited range of motion, and digestive concerns, including reflux. With proper spinal alignment, the baby may feel better and have less reflux during and after feedings.
