Many Oklahoma voters don’t realize what’s actually in SQ 832.

The proposal doesn’t end with the initial increase. It would automatically increase Oklahoma’s minimum wage year after year, without approval from the Oklahoma Legislature.

Those future increases would be tied to a federal urban inflation index based on large metropolitan areas, not the economic realities faced by most Oklahoma communities. The mandate would also apply to city and county governments, potentially leading to higher taxes or fewer local services.
