🌱 A Little Drop of Knowledge

3 Simple Ways to Use Lavender Essential Oil 💜

Now that we’ve talked about some of lavender’s potential benefits, let’s look at a few easy ways to enjoy it at home!

🪻 Aroma Stones and handmade air fresheners: Add 4 to 6 drops to an aroma stone or air freshener and place it nearby for a gentle, relaxing fragrance. No electricity needed!

🪻 Diffuser: Add a few drops to your diffuser, following the manufacturer’s directions, to fill your space with lavender’s floral aroma.

🪻 Relaxing Massage Oil: Mix 1–2 drops of lavender essential oil with 2 teaspoons of a carrier oil, such as sweet almond or fractionated coconut oil, for a gently scented massage.

🌿 A little reminder: Essential oils are highly concentrated. Always dilute before applying to skin, and keep them away from children and pets.

❓ Which of these have you tried, or which would you like to try?

FRANKINCENSE & CANCER RESEARCH: What Are Scientists Discovering? 🔬

Did you know that scientists have been studying frankincense for its potential effects on cancer cells?

Frankincense comes from the Boswellia tree and has been used for centuries in traditional practices. Today, researchers are taking a closer look at its natural compounds, particularly boswellic acids, including one called AKBA.

🔬 WHAT HAS RESEARCH FOUND?

Laboratory and animal studies suggest certain frankincense compounds may:

1. Trigger apoptosis, a natural process where damaged or abnormal cells undergo programmed cell death.

2. Interfere with pathways that help cancer cells grow and multiply.

3. Reduce inflammation associated with certain biological processes.

What’s especially interesting is that researchers have investigated these effects in several types of cancer, including:

- Breast cancer

- Colorectal cancer

- Brain cancer (glioblastoma)

Some early human research has also explored frankincense extracts in breast cancer patients, although much more research is needed.

BUT HERE’S SOMETHING IMPORTANT!

Frankincense essential oil and Boswellia resin extract are NOT the same thing.

Many of the studies involving boswellic acids use concentrated resin extracts, not the essential oil commonly used in diffusers.

Does this mean frankincense cures cancer? No.

These findings are interesting, but frankincense has not been proven to prevent or treat cancer in humans. There is no established anticancer dose, and supplements should not replace medical treatment. Anyone considering them during cancer care should first speak with their oncology team.

❓WHY AM I SHARING THIS?

I love learning about nature and the science behind plants that have been used for generations.

Sometimes the most fascinating discoveries begin by taking a closer look at the natural world around us.

📚 Want to read the actual scientific studies?

I’ve shared links to five published research papers in the FIRST COMMENT so you can explore the findings for yourself!

Have you ever used frankincense, either as an essential oil or a supplement?

Freshen Your Home Naturally! 🍋🍊

Have you ever thought about what you’re using to make your home smell good and how it can affect your health? With my asthma, I have to be very careful what I use in my home.

Plug-in air fresheners, wax melts, and candles may smell wonderful, but some can release synthetic fragrances and other substances into the air.

Why not try something a little more natural? 🍃

1. Simmer Pots: Dried fruits, cinnamon, cloves, and herbs create a warm, cozy aroma.

2. Essential Oils & Diffusers: Create your own beautiful scents while having more control over the ingredients.

3. Aroma Stones: Just a few drops of essential oil provide a gentle fragrance without electricity or heat.

4. Natural Fresheners: Simple, handmade alternatives to traditional air fresheners.

💬 What’s your favorite way to freshen your home? Candles, wax melts, plug-ins, or natural alternatives?

🥶 46 degrees outside and we are STILL refusing to turn the heat on! 🤣

At this point, it’s not even about saving money. It’s about PRINCIPLE! 😂

Put on a sweatshirt, grab a blanket, wear some fuzzy socks. We are NOT giving in this early! 🤣🍂

That furnace can sit there and mind its own business for a little longer! 💸🔥

Who’s still holding out with me, and who’s already caved and turned the heat on? 😂

Sometimes the best sound is the one you don’t have to turn on. 🌿

The wind blowing, the chimes singing, and a few quiet minutes to just enjoy it.
