It has come to our attention that some people are upset about our safety policy, so we want to clear up a few things.

We love working with all children, including our autistic and sensory sensitive kiddos. Crying is okay. Wiggling is okay. Needing breaks is okay. Stimming, anxiety, or feeling overwhelmed is okay. These things are expected and never a problem for us.

The policy is not about those children.

The policy is about situations that have become unsafe. We have personally been spit on, kicked, hit, scratched, and bitten. Cut our own fingers daily. We have had children scream until they throw up. We have had parents ask us to chase their child around the salon or physically restrain them. These situations are not safe for the child or for us.

We do not restrain children. We do not chase children. If a child reaches a point where the appointment becomes unsafe, we will pause the service and try again another day. There is no shame in that and no judgment.

We want every appointment to be a positive and calm experience. Thank you to the amazing families who understand this and continue to support our salon.

Important Safety Policy

We understand that some children get nervous during haircuts, that’s completely normal.
Parents are welcome to gently hold and comfort their child if needed.

However, for safety reasons, we cannot complete the service if a child is:

Kicking, hitting, biting, or thrashing to the point that it’s unsafe to cut

Too strong for the parent to safely hold

Asking us to “chase” them or physically restrain them

We do not chase children, and we do not restrain them.
If a child cannot stay safely in the chair (with or without the help of a parent),
we will stop the service and reschedule or decline.

This is not about shaming anyone, it’s about safety.
We want their experience to be positive, not scary and definitely don't want a little one getting hurt.

I just wanted to give a huge, heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported our first annual Give & Glam Thanksgiving Food Drive. This was our very first time doing this, and even though it started small, the impact was absolutely real.

I wasn’t able to gather enough donations to help everyone this year. I truly wish I could have helped every single household. Because supplies were limited, it was first come, first served, and the families I was able to assist have already been contacted and their baskets are ready.

If I couldn’t reach you this time, please know it wasn’t for lack of care — and I hope to grow this drive bigger next year so we can bless even more families in our community.

We’re so thankful for the incredible response to our Give & Glam Thanksgiving project! Our goal this year was to bless 10 local families with full Thanksgiving meals — and thanks to your kindness, we’ve officially reached that number. 🧡

While we hope to take on more, we want to make sure each family receives the love and care they deserve. That said, we’ve started a waitlist in case we receive additional donations or sponsorships!

This Thanksgiving, two salons are joining forces to give back! 💅🌿

Join The Green Haus Salon and Groovy & Glam Children’s Salon for our first annual “Give & Glam” Food Drive, helping local families enjoy a warm and complete Thanksgiving meal.

🧡 Our Goal: To create Thanksgiving Meal Bags filled with everything families need to celebrate this season.

We’re collecting nonperishable Thanksgiving favorites, including:

-Stuffing mix
-Boxed potatoes
-Canned veggies
-Cranberry sauce
-Gravy packets
-Dessert mixes
-Mac & cheese
-Canned pumpkin
-Rolls or bread mixes

And to make every meal truly complete, we’re also accepting grocery store gift cards (Publix, Walmart, Aldi, Winn-Dixie, etc.) so families can purchase their turkey or ham.
