Time enrolled does not automatically = skill.

I built Invictus Institute of Barbering around a different principle: structured education, repetition, practice in real clients, and an instructor who is actually there to teach, who cares.

My job isn’t to make school look long. My job is to make the training work!

I’ve spent more than 20 years behind the chair and years studying how people actually learn this craft. That experience became a methodology, and that methodology became Invictus.

Because the goal isn’t simply to finish school… the goal is to leave school READY for the chair.

And if you’re willing to put in the work, 90 days can be the beginning of a completely different life. Barbering transformed my life and now my mission is to transform other people’s lives teaching this profession that I love so much.

Vidal Sassoon understood something that most people never see: he transformed cutting into a methodology that could be taught, repeated, and mastered by thousands of people.

That philosophy had a huge influence on my own journey as an educator.

I had the opportunity to train at the Vidal Sassoon Academy, and today I’m obsessed with doing the same thing for barbering: creating a system that transforms the way people learn.

I created The First Haircut Experience not to teach people how to cut hair in just one afternoon, but to show them what’s possible when they take the first step.

Watching complete beginners learn their first skin fade, gain confidence, and realize they might have found a career they actually love is something I’ll never get tired of.

You never know where one opportunity can lead. Sometimes, the smallest first step becomes the beginning of a completely different life.

What started as a hobby that I didn’t take seriously at first eventually became my mission and my passion.

Barbering changed my life. It saved me from jobs I hated, from earning minimum wage while doing physically demanding work, and from waking up every day dreading going to work. I feel incredibly blessed that I discovered my dream career at a young age.

So many people spend years waiting for the “perfect moment” to pursue what they truly love. Before they know it, years have passed, and they’re still stuck in a career that doesn’t fulfill them.

Looking back, I realize God was preparing me for something much bigger. He wasn’t just teaching me how to cut hair. He was preparing me to teach others the same profession that transformed my life and gave me opportunities I never imagined possible.

That’s exactly why we created The First Haircut Experience.
This free class was my way of giving back to the community and introducing aspiring barbers to the incredible world of barbering. We provided all the tools, all the guidance, and an environment where anyone, regardless of experience, could learn.

Together, we spent an afternoon learning how to perform a skin fade, asking questions, laughing, making mistakes, and discovering that barbering is so much more than cutting hair. It’s a skill that can open doors, create freedom, and completely change someone’s future.

Seeing the excitement on everyone’s faces reminded me why I do what I do. If even one person leaves believing they can build a better life through barbering, then every minute invested is worth it ❤️
