On July 1, 1995, 24-year-old Erin Marie Gilbert left her sister’s home in Anchorage, Alaska, around 4 p.m. She was going on a date with David “Dave” Combs, whom she had met a few days earlier at a local bar.

The two traveled to Girdwood to attend the annual Girdwood Forest Fair. Erin was reportedly seen with Combs at the fair’s b**r garden around 6 p.m.

According to Combs, they later returned to his car, but the vehicle would not start. He said the lights had accidentally been left on and the battery had died. He reportedly told Erin to stay with the vehicle while he went looking for a friend nearby who might be able to help.

Combs later said that he spent about two hours trying to find the friend’s home. When he returned to the car, Erin was gone.

Her family soon realized something was seriously wrong and reported her missing. Search efforts were conducted around Girdwood, but no confirmed trace of Erin was found.

Decades have passed, yet the questions surrounding Erin’s disappearance remain. Where did she go after leaving the vehicle? What happened to her that night?

Erin was 24 when she vanished. Her case remains unsolved, and her family continues to live with the uncertainty of not knowing what happened to her.

I have a question for anyone who has been through something similar.

Has anyone ever had a loved one with a **legal DNR** in place, only for CPR and other life-saving measures to still be performed when they had a cardiac arrest in the hospital?

This happened with my mama.

I had already provided her legal DNR and personally told the doctors and nurses that she did not want resuscitation. Despite that, CPR and life-saving measures were performed when she had a heart attack.

She is now receiving hospice and palliative care in the hospital and is mostly unconscious. Watching her go through this has completely broken my heart because I know this isn't how she wanted her final moments to be.

I'm struggling to understand how this happened and, honestly, I'm having a very difficult time accepting it.

On **September 26, 2026**, 40-year-old **Jonathan McKinsey** was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the Dublin Sports Grounds in California. Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

They were **77-year-old Shouyong Zhang and 77-year-old Shili Chen** — a married couple and Jonathan's parents-in-law. Both were arrested on suspicion of murder.

Jonathan had been separated from his wife, **Candice Jang**, and the two were involved in a contentious divorce and custody dispute involving their three children.

Court records also show that both sides had made allegations of abuse and had sought protective orders. Jonathan had also been facing misdemeanor charges involving alleged child endangerment, which he denied.

Jonathan, in turn, had made his own allegations against his wife and her parents, including claims of physical and verbal abuse. Some of those allegations involved comments related to his transgender identity. These claims appeared in court documents but have not been established as facts by a court.

The timing has also drawn attention.

The divorce and custody proceedings were still active when Jonathan was killed, with another family-court hearing reportedly approaching.

But police have not publicly established a motive for the shooting.

What is known is that Jonathan was found dead at a public sports complex, while his wife's parents were detained nearby shortly afterward. Police say there are no outstanding suspects and no known threat to the public.
