While a 9th place finish at the State FFA Public Speaking Contest wasn’t the outcome Laiken was hoping for, competing at the state level in public speaking is an incredible accomplishment in itself! Reaching this stage means standing among the best speakers in the state, and that’s something to be proud of!

Laiken is officially signing in as the 2026-2027 Tilden FFA Chapter President. Following in her brother’s footsteps, while also creating her own path, has been incredible to watch this year. Her sophomore year was filled with many accomplishments and memories! She is extremely blessed with great FFA Advisors, mentors, teammates, and friendships. We are beyond proud of the dedication, leadership, and heart she brings while wearing that blue corduroy jacket so proudly. I cannot wait to see where this journey takes her 💙💛

Family Weekend well spent 🖤

In true McClaugherty fashion we crammed as many activities as we could in a week for Spring Break. Gunnar’s All Star Basketball Tournament, Joy’s 80th Birthday Celebration, George West Rodeo, Houston Rodeo Horse Judging, a few days in Rockport, and then finished the week in Buda for a volleyball tournament. Enjoyed every minute of it 🖤

Laiken rallied hard to bring horse judging back to Tilden FFA and these girls did not disappoint!
Their very first contest was the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo and they did amazing! Every single one of these girls stepped up and competed hard.
Laiken finished 17th High Point Individual out of 439 kids and the Tilden Blue Team placed 17th out of 128 teams. Placing Top 20 at San Antonio is a huge deal.
I cannot wait to see what the future holds for this Horse Judging Team🤩🐴 Up next is the Houston Rodeo!

It was finally time for Laiken to retire Brady and give Birdie a shot at her first rodeo with Laiken this weekend and this duo didn’t disappoint!
Saturday they were 1.9 but left a little early and broke the barrier.
Today they were 2.01 and won HS Rodeo #9.
Future looks bright for these two beauties 🤩
