Today is our last day of 2025! Mel's Barbershop will be closed Wednesday, December 24th through Thursday, January 1st. We will reopen Friday, January 2nd at 8am.

In 1945, Mollie Edmonds became the first licensed female barber in Texas.
At a time when the industry was almost entirely male, she broke barriers, opened her own shop, and paved the way for generations of women to step behind the chair with pride.
Her story is a reminder that barbering is more than a craft its courage, legacy, and community.
