DOWNS, Marjorie "Paula"; a beloved daughter, sister, spouse, mother, grandmother, and the proud owner of Capture One Hair Studio, departed from this world on September 10, 2023, after a courageous battle with Melanoma cancer. Born on February 01, 1978, Paula’s life was a testament to love, family, and unwavering strength.
She is survived by her devoted parents, Bruce and Gayle Anderson, her cherished brother Stephen Anderson, and her loving spouse, Daryl Martin. Paula’s legacy of love extends to her three daughters, Samantha, Kerstyn, and Madison, who were the center of her world. She also embraced her role as a stepmother to Cory Martin (Lauren), nurturing him as if he were her own.
Paula’s warmth and kindness knew no bounds, as evidenced by the deep bond she shared with her four adoring grandchildren, June, Michael, Dominic, and Maria. Her wisdom and generosity will forever be remembered as she played an integral part in their lives.
Paula’s extended family, including her loving in-laws Brenda and Larry Martin, was an essential part of her life, providing unwavering support and love throughout her journey.
In addition to her devotion to family, Paula was a pillar of her community as the owner of Capture One Hair Studio. Her passion for hairstyling and commitment to making her clients feel their best was evident in every aspect of her work. Her salon was not just a place of beauty but a haven of friendship and support.
Paula’s battle with Melanoma cancer showcased her remarkable strength and determination, inspiring all who knew her. She faced this challenge with grace and resilience, embodying the true spirit of a fighter.
Paula’s journey on this earth may have ended, but her spirit, the love she showered upon her family, and the impact of her salon on the community will continue to live on in their hearts. Her memory will forever be a beacon of love, resilience, and the importance of family bonds. Sorry havent posted in awhile. Little updated! Ended up with colitis and pneumitis after my immunotherapy treatment. Hopefully getting out of hospital soon. Please send prayers and good vibes. My mri scan is scheduled for tomorrow!! Thanks to everyone that has reached out !!! I can't wait till I'm back in my happy place with all of you!! I appreciate your support and patience while I'm dealing with this chapter in my life!!

I know it's been awhile since I've posted. I wanted to update everyone. My last Mri was excellent, my tumors are shrinking. I just finished another gamma knife. We had postpone my last combo immunotherapy because I had tummy issues which ended up in me having my gallbladder removed. I want to thank everybody for the text , calls, cards, gifts, prayers. I appreciate all of you so much!! I'm going to get through and beat this. I'm very determined and can't wait to get up and running again, see everybody's smiling faces again !!! Thanks for all the support!!

Hello wanted update everyone. Just finished my 3rd combo round of immunotherapy!! I'm scheduled for more radiation and will also do a new treatment in Sept after I finished my 4th combo. I had few new symptoms pop up but they are getting controlled now. The best news is my latest mri shows treatment is working and tumors are shrinking, we are going in the right direction. I will be reaching out to all of about your appts. I want to thank you all for being understanding and patient while I go through the process of treatment!! I appreciate everyone's support and reaching out to check on me. Thank you so much , I'm so blessed to have you all!!

I wanted to share , I appreciate so much everybody support. Unfortunately I'm only able and capable of working part time because of dr visits and still healing from surgery. Im also not able to drive for 6 months. The immunotherapy I started , praying I won't have any serious side effect. They can be random and start at any given time during treatment. I'm on a mission to fully heal and beat this, get back to work again full time. I love my career and my salon suite so much!! I don't want anybody feel obligated, would love for anybody to just share . I appreciate anything . I don't like asking for anything , guess I have suck up my pride. I know and have faith that God got this and everything going according to his plan! So I'm asking just to share if you don't mind. Thank you all!! 😘😘

I want to thank everybody for being patient with me and checking in!! I love you all!! You mean the world to me! I finished 3 round of gamma knife radiation last week. Immunotherapy starts today and I'll keep everyone posted if I need shuffle stuff around. Hoping for no side effects. Hopefully my schedule will return more normal. Doctor's are very positive and I'm getting second opnions as well. Just little set back but I'm going to beat this!! Thank you all for being kind patient! I'm very grateful to have you!! Much love!!

I want everybody to know how much I appreciate the calls and text to see how I'm doing. I did have a update which I need to let everyone know. Last Friday my team of angels 😇 were watching out. Ironically I was driving and had a seizure but pulled over in tanning parking lot right before. This is how I know my angels sent me message that ill be ok!! I have more treatment to comes as the melanoma has now spread to brain. The Dr's are confident that I will beat this. I'm still allowed to work ,not drive so my availability will be limited at work. MY daughter/finance is helping me with rides. Ill contact everyone accordingly.

Still little sore and incisions are healing nicely. Weaning back into work taking on 1 or 2 clients a day. My pathology results came back in and was not what we were expecting at all. The nodular turns out is melanoma and not lung cancer. Which now raises more questions and more testing to be done. I'm remaining positive and I know that everything will work out :)
