Baptism Sunday! 🙌🏻 Excerpts from a message by Pastor Patrick Tanton. Becoming series begins.
Psalms, many were written by David, a guy anointed by God that loved him with all his heart, but was not perfect. Psalm 1:3, God has created us like trees, we are to get planted, grow, mature, and produce fruit. If we are in the right environment, great things (the life that God wants for us) can happen. We are being transformed. We are all becoming who God has created us to be. It takes humility to admit that you have growing and maturing to do. Allow God to lead you. Where are you in the growth process and what steps can you take to mature? Do you really want all that God has planned for you?
Our TimberCreek mission is to Follow Jesus, Find Freedom, and Fulfill Purpose.
In John chapter 6, Jesus said that “the work of God is to believe in the one He sent.” The people are looking for food/physical bread, but Jesus encourages them to partake of the actual bread, Jesus is the bread of life. That is hard for the people to understand. Like them, many of us stop following Him because we don’t receive what we are asking for. Jesus is offering so much more than the physical that we ask for. When we have tried it our own way many times, we should consider following the one true God. He will lead us there. He is the only one that will get us there. Who are you going to choose to follow? Make a decision to choose Him and follow Him. It starts with belief, but it takes more than that. Center your life on Him. Give your whole life to Him. Start or restart today. All in.

Excerpts from a message by Pastor Patrick Tanton. Names of God series continues. We will look at 9 different names of His.
Today we look closer at the name Jehovah Shalom. He is our peace. During this time in the Bible, they would be disobedient, then repent, then come back, etc. Judges 6: tells us about Gideon. God finally breaks through into his heart, he finally decides to be obedient, and is given peace. Peace is not about the situation, it’s about the condition of our souls. Peace is not about the absence of problems, it’s about the presence of God in our hearts. Even when life is difficult, God can still produce peace in us. We need peace.
The enemy tries to steal our peace, the foundation of what God has promised us. Peace can be described as a subjective feeling. The opposite is worry, anxiety, fear. Peace of God. The peace of God is anchored in our relationship with God. God is in control and has promised to be with us. We must be rooted in Him. This kind of peace is more than a feeling. God tells us not to be anxious, instead being those circumstances to God and trust Him with it. “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds…” Philippians. Don’t allow fear, anger, anxiety to control you! Allow the peace of God to rule your hearts, even on the hard days. Do not surrender to those emotions of the enemy.
The second kind of peace is about an objective relationship. The opposite is conflict. Both are anchored in Jehovah Shalom. Peace with God. We have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ has done for us.
He is our peace, and it flows from the source, not from the situation. We need to grow our relationship with our Father God, draw close to Him. Accept the gift of His peace. 🙌🏻💝 You can’t have the peace of God until you have peace with God.

Excerpts from a message by guest Pastor Cleve Masten. Names of God series continues. We will look at 9 different names of His.
Today we look closer at the name Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals. Exodus 15:23-26, the only place this name is mentioned. This is an Old Testament reference to the future, when Jesus would hang on a tree, a cross, for us. Many of us have wounds and pain. God wants to heal us because he loves us!
Process matters more to god than transaction…but YOU are more important to Him than both. Jehovah Rapha represents comprehensive healing. He will bring healing to your body, mind, and spirit. Yes to YOU!
God can provide physical healing, restoring the body from sickness and disease.
God wants to heal our souls, broken hearts, trauma, and emotional distress. Psalm 147:3 The trenches and wounds within us can be filled with God’s love! 💕🙌🏻
Our minds can be healed and renewed. With humility we can let go of our plans and allow God’s will to renew you. Spiritual healing cleanses the souls from the effects of sin and restoring a right relationship with God.
What do YOU need Him to be for you today? He is here and available to you! Jesus dan handle Post Traumatic Stress, it does not have to be a disorder, you went through something awful and you can be healed. It does not have to be your identity. Warning, healing is not always present. In order for us to heal, we must have humility and acknowledge where we are broken.
What do YOU need today? Invite Jesus into your life and allow Him to write your story. Give him all of YOU and allow Him to go to work for you. You can be a curse breaker with God’s help and love! 💕🙌🏻

Excerpts from a message by Connections Pastor Travis
Deatherage. Names of God series begins. We will look at 9 different names of His.
Today we look closer at the name Jehovah M’kiddishm, sanctification, to be set apart, to be holy because He is. We need to keep striving for that each day. A lot of us try too hard to “appear” Christian. We are one way in church and act a different way the other days of the week. Trying to be perfect can be exhausting when we are trying too hard. We need to remember that Jesus did the work, we are forgiven, we do not have to work for it.
Busyness does not equal holiness. We need to remember the Sabbath, remember to rest and trust Him. What does rest mean? John 15:4-5 Abide in me (Him). It’s not a performance, it’s connection with Him. Then He will produce fruit in us. We have to choose to be dependent on Him, he can carry the weight. We abide/trust/obey so that our obedience connects us to Him. He is doing the work and the fruit will be produced in us and through us, the Holy Spirit will live in us. We are becoming what He created us to be. Despite how messed up we might be, our testimony could be affecting someone else. Be still and rest in Him. Allow Him to lead us to the plan He has for us. Accept the gift. Get with him, stay with him, and rest with him. 🙌🏻❤️

Excerpts from a message by Associate Pastor Josh Starnes. Names of God series begins. We will look at 9 different names of His.
Today we look at the name Jehovah Tsidkenu, it means the Lord our Righteousness.
The crookedness of people does not mean God is crooked. God is righteous and humans are not. We all sin. God has this all figured out, we do not. We were intended to be His image, but we all mess up. When God and people partner together, goodness and righteousness can be the result. God can be trusted.
Jeremiah 23:5-6, Jeremiah 33:16. Jeremiah spends 20 chapters talking about how people have messed up. Then he starts to talk about Jesus. No matter how crooked we have been, Jesus can save us and make our paths straight. If you have accepted Christ because of what He did, you are accepted, forgiven, and allowed in to salvation. The crookedness of our body can begin to become more righteous. Jesus had no sin and was sent to help us become more like Him, more righteous. We must repent, forgive, accept the gift he has given us.

Excerpts from a message by Pastor Patrick Tanton.
Does God always answer prayer? Yes He does, but he answers in 3 different ways. We always want the answer “YES” to our requests for the job, the answers, the money, the child, the miracle. When the answer is “NO”, we have to keep praying and understanding. Sometimes the answer is “WAIT”, it is about God’s timing. We can’t force it. There are reasons for the NO and the WAIT. We need to keep trusting in Him and His plans for us.
Today we focus on this part of The Lord’s Prayer: protection. “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” Jesus does not actually lead us into temptation, we are asking for His help to lead us away from our own bad decisions. We need His help! The devil even tried to tempt Jesus, and he responded with God’s word; we need to do the same. Fill your heart with His word, so that is what comes out when we feel pressured. Be aware of your location (places that cause temptation) and condition. We tend to make poor decisions when we are hungry, angry, lonely, or tired. We are vulnerable when these conditions are present. Let go of your pride and ask for help.
“But deliver us from evil” (the evil one). This adversary walks around looking for someone who is weak that he can attack. Be aware that the enemy is looking for us, he is real. He wants to pull us away from God. Pray for God to deliver us! Let God’s will be done! Our human efforts are not enough and we need to humble ourselves and ask for His help. Jesus has overcome the world and He will lead us through it. If this is the prayer that we are saying, how closely are we following his guidance and plans for us?

Excerpts from a message by Pastor Patrick Tanton. Prayer series continues. Prayer is both incredibly important and powerful in the life of a Christ follower. This month is Pray May for our church, establishing a prayer routine.
We are unpacking The Lord’s Prayer, a great outline and foundation for us. Matthew 6:9-13. The prayer starts with all our focus on Him.
Today we focus on forgiveness, it is an important part of we need to do in our lives though it is not easy. We all have a debt of sin that Jesus has already forgiven us for. We need to ask for forgiveness for our own sins. Sometimes we downgrade it to a “mistake” or “bad choice” but we need to own that we have all sinned. He paid the un-payable debt for us! We need to continue owning up to our sin and ask for forgiveness.
We also need to forgive other people. We should let go of the hurt, the offense, the grudge, and release them to God. We love receiving grace, but giving it is much harder. We weren’t created to hold other people’s sin in our own hearts. Jesus is the only one that should carry that debt. The bigger the sin, the offense, the pain, the more we need to let it go. Our own forgiveness is dependent on our forgiving others. Allow God’s forgiveness to flow to you and then through you! The source of forgiveness is in Him. We are to forgive “70x7” times, ie as many times as needed. 🙏🏻🙌🏻✝️

Excerpts from a message by Men’s Pastor Cleve Masterson. Prayer series continues. Prayer is both incredibly important and powerful in the life of a Christ follower. This month is Pray May for our church, establishing a prayer routine.
God answers every prayer we give, maybe not in the way we want, but he always answers. It all begins with Him. We are children of God and heirs of God, and that should affect the way we approach him. There are trying times ahead and we need to be prepared for that. You need a measure of faith in order to reach out and for him to hear us. It always begins with Him, He gets all the glory.
We need to forget about ourselves and focus on Him. Our world is too self-centered these days. We don’t need to worry about ourselves because He is already doing it! 🙌🏻 When we let go of ourselves, we allow Him to take over! Focus on Him and keep your eyes on Him! 🥰
When we look to Him, he reflects on us and we become what He intends. Prayer connects us to our divine assignment. As we behold him, we become aware of his intentions…*see slide.
We are his children and we should not behave as orphans. Psalms has poetry, prayer, and worship all in one chapter. The Lord is my shepherd! Psalm 23 is a great example of this. We must diligently seek Him, lean in, seek His heart, give all of yourself! ❤️ There are many names for Jesus Christ (*see slide) each of those names magnifies Him. When we acknowledge Him, we let go of who we are, and then we find out who we are. Do you see what incredible access we have in God? Ask him what we need him to be for us in our lives. He is our provider! He is the God of peace and he will give it to us. Go with God’s plan. He restores my soul, and is the ultimate healer. He needs us to trust Him, yield to Him, and give it all to Him. Say yes to Him and no to yourself.
