is a barber known for sharing videos of himself giving strangers free haircuts, listening to their stories and getting to know them. Now he’s working with w/ film producer + criminal justice reform advocate and to bring this new rehabilitative program to life, which will bring greater dignity, connection and opportunity to men within the prison system.
“Inspiring people is one thing but empowering them is totally different,” he says. “When I imagined opening up a barber school one day, I never imagined it to be in a prison - now I wouldn’t want it to be any other way. The VicBlends Academy will pilot in 4 California Prison sites, then scale to all 33, and soon to be in every prison in the nation.”
