Today’s SELF Mentorship session at WHealthy was powerful. Our youth learned how to handle money, generate revenue, create content, add value, and build soft skills and customer service experience — all while understanding the importance of doing well, by doing good. Real skills, real leadership, real growth.

Proud to share that Motus Theater, Community Anchor Academy, and I had the chance to help influence HB 26-1064, and it passed both chambers.
This bill helps refocus Colorado’s Youthful Offender System on rehabilitation, individualized treatment, and support for young people with behavioral or developmental challenges — a real step toward restoration and reintegration.
And a special shout out to Judy Amabile, who created the bill and got it going and got it passed. Much respect for leading with vision and helping move this forward.
This isn’t the finish line, but it is progress.
And progress matters.

Motus Theater’s Youth Behind & Beyond Bars performance at the Dairy Arts Center sold out — a powerful reminder of what happens when truth, art, and justice meet. Voices too often unheard took center stage, and the room felt it.
Grateful to Mayor Aaron Brockett and DA Michael Dougherty for showing up and standing with the community. Presence matters. Listening matters. Leadership matters.

In December, 70+ Community Anchor Academy and WHealthy participants graduated from customer service, forklift, warehouse, and flagger training—all paired with work-based learning.

This year we wanted to reward our participants that are working hard but still needed a little support. We believe in hand up over hand outs at Community Anchor Academy. We took our participants grocery shopping and clothing shopping to show them appreciation for their handwork and dedication to improving themselves. We want to incentivize people work hard to Strengthening , Elevating, liberating and fortifying themselves.
