Day 1 of in Orlando was a SUCCESS!
I’m so proud of .total_beauty and stepping out of their comfort zones and into the world of education. We were soooo engaged I lowkey forgot to take photos and my phone was dead within 5 hours from all the notes 🤦🏽♀️ I’ll be better tmrw.
Sooo many of my students have the clippers. And sooo many of them want my professional opinion. As I talked to he told me about the MiniPlays and since he got the Magic Clips that I LOVE, it’s only fair I test these out.
Fresh out of the box here’s my thoughts:
• I’m upset they didn’t have the black in stock but gray will do
• they’re super quiet 🤫 which is great but also makes me want to learn more about their motor and longevity
• they’re super narrow which is great for my tiny hands but has me concerned about strength for different hair textures
• the shaver…is not great. The amount of times I had to go over again and again and again…lowkey had me frustrated when the 5 Stars are a one and done pass
• they didn’t get hot quickly
Things I still gotta test ‘em on:
Wet hair, coarse hair, curly hair, no guard fading, blunt lines
But for me as a trio - Clipper, trimmer, shaver - I give a 7. The shaver really brought it down though.
I used to not pay much attention to sports at all…
But then I realized it’s another thing to connect on with my clients
I may still ask questions, but I promise…I’m trying to learn, I want to learn it’s just a lot of
The sports I understand more are the ones on in my house…so talk to me about darts, UFC, hockey and marble Olympics 🙈

"Liar" might be a little dramatic 😭 but hear me out…
I have clients who swear they’re following every aftercare instruction and still wonder why their closure or extensions feel tired just a few weeks later. Then I have clients hitting the 9+ month mark (with blonde hair 😭) and their pieces are still holding up beautifully.
The difference usually isn’t one huge mistake.
It’s the little habits all joining together:
sleeping with damp hair sometimes, skipping heat protectant because you’re rushing, turning hot tools up “just this once,” forgetting satin protection… normal life stuff.
This isn’t me calling anyone out, cuz girl I've been there too😂 Most people genuinely think they’re doing everything right.
But extensions tell on us over time. The quality of the hair matters, yes—but consistency at home matters more than people realize.
Also… if your stylist gives you aftercare instructions and you’re not following them exactly, PLEASE tell us 😭 We’d rather adjust your routine than keep blaming the hair.
