May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month, and as an esthetician, this one hits close to home for me.

Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the US -- 1 in 5 Americans will develop it in their lifetime. And here in Colorado? Our risk is actually higher than most of the country because of our altitude. The higher we are, the less atmosphere there is to filter out UV radiation. Which means the sun here is hitting different, literally.

I know SPF can feel like a chore, or something you only think about at the beach. But daily sun protection is the single most effective thing you can do for your long-term skin health -- and it's something I talk about with literally every single client.
