Both of them we’re so loving and open to talk about everything I had always wanted to talk to them about. Well, maybe not everything but the stuff I thought of. The ladies of .owen blew my fu***ng mind and I’m truly honored to have taken some of their time to tell them how amazing, wonderful and truly badass I think they are. As if the brand didn’t have my full support as it stands, even more so a customer for life and will happily subscribe to their vision of the future. Val, Michelle, thank you from the bottom of my fu***ng heart for everything and more so the two days I got to meet you.

For the Halloween contest on the Discord server, I went ahead and did a look from one of the sneak peek NFTs they have released from the collection launching later this year. This was a fun look to try out especially since it was out of my comfort zone with the body paint side of things! Original art by and it was a lot of fun to try on a 3D canvas-my face!

Lauryl has been doing fashion color with me for 2+ years and today we decided to do something way different. Not only did she want more fall inspired hair but I also wanted to do something on her that I don't normally do. We didn't have a plan when she walked in and her hair inspo came from a fall dress she had purchased.

After formulating the plan and the colors, here's what had to be done:
Starting with sectioning, the blonde had to be filled and anywhere there was blue or aqua remaining, had to be neutralized. After rinsing our copper based filler, I lightened the front right section only at her roots then pulled through after her roots reached the level I needed for her color for that section. Once we did that, there was still a green tint so I used a pink semi permanent color as a porosity filler and toner. After drying and sectioning again, I put on a rich chocolate brown color then her copper.

Why am I writing this novel of a caption? To explain that redepositing color is just as time consuming as lifting pigment. Hairdressers are challenged daily by a client's wants or needs. There are processes we have to do to make sure the hair is beautiful, healthy and most of all fun for the client. Something they can love and enjoy for weeks on end.

This process took as long as a blonding process can take. 5.5 hours with lots of formulating as well as coming up with back up solutions in case something didn't come out like we had expected or hoped. Being prepared and ready for anything is what a colorist has to do.

Red and teal have been a color combo that I have loved but I never knew how I could execute and absolutely love it. Well...I love this!

A year without this sweet pup and my heart still breaks like the day I lost her. I miss you Harli girl. My own little second heartbeat. Nothing, no one can replace you baby girl. 🥺🖤

This little girl always brings a smile to my face. My first python. I got this girl May 7th last year and no, that isn't her birthday but that's the day I celebrate becoming a ball python keeper finally. My first and yes, I will openly admit, my favorite royal. Synderlla is the best example of how docile and sweet these animals are. I'm a lucky snake mom 🥰

This color blocking on went so amazing! I love the combo we decided on and it makes her blue-green eyes really pop! Thanks so much Lauryl for always trusting me to deliver something fun!
