"I'll just buy it off of Amazon!" π§
We π Amazon... just not for hair products. But why?
1. Counterfeit Products π―
Companies like Amazon have faced issues with counterfeit products being sold on its platform, including beauty and hair care items. These counterfeits might look ππππ£π©ππππ‘ to the genuine products but can be harmful to your hair and skin due to unknown ingredients.
2. Expired Products β
Problems like this arise because there is no regulation on how these products are handled by customers. As soon as a product is opened, and bacteria is introduced, the shelf life of the product has started (think of it like pasta sauce: it can sit in your pantry for a long time, but as soon as its opened, it needs to be used within a certain period of time). If you are not the first person to open the product, there is no way of knowing how long these items are good for.
3. Resold Products π
The products can be returned and resold. ππ§π€π¨π¨. Itβs bad enough that customers often touch, smell, and test these products in the stores, but there is essentially π―ππ§π€ ππͺππ§ππ£π©ππ that the product you would be buying hasnβt be returned by another customer.
