Something I’ve learned while being an esthetician is you can protect your skin while still enjoying life. Sun protection is meant to allow you to enjoy the outdoors safely. So it was nice to explore the city, ride bikes, and flick the bean while not worrying too much about being in the sun! (of course I still wore my sunscreen)

The peels I used —> the skin right after ✨

For those wanting to know what I did/why (I’ll keep it concise):

This client had some minor sensitivity during her last visit, which we figured out was due to using her retinoid in the days leading up to her peel. We discontinued the retinoid for 7-14 days to stabilize her barrier before today. Here’s the protocol I used:

1. GlyMed+ Peptide Perfection: I usually like to start with a gentle, hydrating, rinse-off peel to prime the skin for the upcoming acids.

2. Bioskin BioRePeel: I chose this to deliver the TCA to the pigmented cells in the deeper layers without causing the surface-level irritation she experienced last time.

3. Linder Health Polite Peel: I always include this in my layering before the final layer. The glycerin hydrates and cools the skin while the tranexamic acid regulates melanocyte activity.

4. Circadia Vitamin A Accelerator: I always finish with a retinoid, especially since I discontinue at-home retinoids during our series. This locks in the previous layers, since it is lipophilic, while encouraging cellular turnover to push those pigmented cells to the surface.

The photo of her skin is immediately after applying her sunscreen, you can see she has no blanching or erythema. Her skin handled everything perfectly since we discontinued her retinoid leading up to the treatment!
