Silly Goats Soap Company
Handmade and Natural - Goats Milk Soaps, Lotions & other Goat Milk Products, Gift Baskets, and Bath So we started making soaps. God is Good!
Silly Goats Soap Company, started because we wanted to live healthier and bring better products that we already used to our family, to use in to our own household. We wanted fresh foods with no additives, so we started our garden and raising our own animals. Then with the animals came the goats and they give us a lot of milk so, we started making natural, skin care products that would help my psoriasis and dry skin, Sandys' sensitive skin, and just be healthier for our daughter. Then you all tried our soaps and wanted more... and here we are now!

It's a beautiful day here at Silly Goats Soap Co.! 🤠

Today was one of those days that we hate.. It's not always cute , baby goats or puppies. Don't often share this part but... Indy, Grace, and Dolly were the 2nd batch of kids we had and the 1st doelings. In fact if you ever got a brochure from us, Indy is the leaping kid on the front. We lost Dolly several years ago, but Indy and Grace turned 10 this year and were doing well. We had decided last fall that this year would be their last kidding. They would live out their lives here just hanging out and kid sitting during weaning. Unfortunately , about six weeks ago , we went to bed , and everyone was fine. The next morning , when we went to do chores , Indy had suffered a head injury. Best guess is that another goat ran her into a wall. She had a bulging eye and skull fracture. She could not see out of her right eye and was extremely unsteady on her feet and seemed confused. She fought hard , but never really recovered. She continued to lose weight , no matter what meds or food we gave her. Her balance also continued to deteriorate. And this last week , she started separating herself more and more from the herd, hiding off to herself and barely eating anything. We made the difficult decision since she was continuing to get worse each day that she had fought long enough and her suffering should end.. we said our goodbyes this morning and cried a bit. We are blessed to have Indy daughters in our herd and so thankful she gave us one last daughter this spring. We will miss you "Indy Spindy"
Update 9.29.26: Tate (The Great) is slowly working his way into the LSGD pack. Jake is his hero. He loves Jake (and that is awesome). Jake is the alpha leader and we want Tate to emulate Jake and work his way into that position in the future. Momma Bonnie tolerate the pup and Mercy (as you can see) is not a fan (at this time) but, she'll get there. Jake and the goats have put Tate in his place a couple time but that is a part of the training. Tate currently is going out with the herd during morning and evening chores with us and learning his place slowly. We do not want him getting hurt and than being afraid of the goats. Slow and steady is the plan. During the day he is in the back yard and orchard, which does have contact fencing with the LSGD & goats without being in the herd it self. He is doing great and we see a bright future for Tater!

Ok, we are doing the "We Got Milk Room Done" 🎶 dance! 🕺 Finished putting the ceiling up. Very happy to have this project finished. Look at the before and after pics. The Soap Shop and milk room have come a long way since bought our place in KY.

❤️ Well we added a new member to the Silly Goats Farm family. Meet Tater! Our new male Anatolian Shepherd pup. He is 4 months old. We currently have 3 LSGD's to watch over and protect not only our Silly Goat herd but the chickens, turkeys, rabbits and barn cats and they are an excellent team and work so well together but, momma Bonnie is getting older she is 9 or 10 years old (she actually came with the farm when we bought it 8 years ago) and slowing down. So, it is time to introduce a new member of the team and between us and our guard dogs team we can get Tater trained up so we do not have any holes in our defense. We have a huge predator load with a lot of coyotes here in South Central, KY. Add in the foxes, bobcats, opposums, raccoons, skunks, and hawks, the team stays busy keeping the barnyard safe. We are excited to welcome Tater and we have high hopes for this boy! ❤️🤠

Definitely taking time , and as projects tend to go, taking longer than expected but we made some good progress on the milk room, the last few days. Hopefully , we will be able to finish it up in the next week or two. Really liking the way it's coming together.

Slower than we would like but lots of great progress on the milk room this week. 1 wall and the ceiling left to go.

Lol. It's a toss up whether Mercy or the goats are more helpful
So helpful! And Chris wonders why I lock them up if I'm trying to work on any repairs.

Sweet! 🤠
The hay barn is loaded for the winter! 🌾
Every bale means our Silly Goats will have plenty of good hay when the Kentucky winter rolls in. Happy, healthy goats give us the fresh goat milk we use in every batch of soap and lotion we make.
Farm life never really slows down... there's always another job to do, but we wouldn't have it any other way. ❤️🐐
