✨FUN FACT✨ Your pore size never does/can actually get bigger because your oil glands will always remain what they are genetically. ALTHOUGH there are ways to make them appear smaller and prevent their expansion.
But first, let’s take a step back to look at some common reasons why they might appear larger than normal.
𝙎𝙠𝙞𝙣 𝙏𝙮𝙥𝙚 - A persons skin type can change over time. It can also change with the seasons. Although any skin type can have the appearance of enlarged pores, oily skin is particularly susceptible. Overactive sebaceous glands characterize oily skin. These glands secrete sebum, an oil that is a natural part of your skins hydration system. This excess sebum sits on top of the skin enters the pores and forcibly makes them expand. Creating the appearance of enlarged pores.
𝙎𝙠𝙞𝙣 𝙀𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙩𝙮- Skin elasticity involves several factors, but the top contributors are collagen and elastin. Collagen helps keep your skin hydrated and firm. While elastin keeps your skin stretchy. If you have low skin elasticity you may be prone to enlarged pores. When your skin loses its ability to bounce back then your pores might not be able to fully recover from blockages.
𝙎𝙪𝙣 𝘿𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙜𝙚 - Another factor that can affect skin elasticity is sun damage. Sun damage can cause the skin to lose collagen and dry out, which in turn can cause the appearance of enlarged pores.
𝙂𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙨 & 𝘼𝙜𝙚- Women’s pore size may fluctuate with their menstrual cycle, and appear larger during ovulation. Another factor is age, older skin tends to lose elasticity and is therefore more susceptible to not bouncing back as quickly creating enlarged looking pores.

☀️With warmer weather approaching many people are surprised to find out that spring time can be just as harsh on your skin as the colder months.☀️
During this season, your skin may become more irritated or dry due to increased sweat production and oil buildup, leading to clogged pores, breakouts, and even fine lines and wrinkles. Maintaining a consistent skincare routine and using oil-absorbing products can help mitigate these issues.
Tips for treating your skin in spring!
🌷Add in an exfoliation into your double cleanse. Try to exfoliate at least twice a week to help decrease build up of blocked pores.
🌷 Increase your sun protection. With longer days and stronger UV rays it’s crucial to keep your skin protected.
🌷Switch up your moisturizer. Switching from a cream based to gel based in the warmer months can prevent clogged pores and excess oil production.
🌷 Incorporate antioxidants. Using products with antioxidants such as vitamin c or green tea can help to protect your skin from free radical damage caused by sun exposure.

With so many skin care products out there a lot of people are straying away from spas for the diy option. But there are a lot of added benefits to seeing a professional. Below are some of the reasons seeing an esthetician once a month on top of your at home skin regimen is necessary for glowing youthful skin.
✨✨✨✨
𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀- An esthetician will do a full skin analysis to get a better understanding of your skin concerns and goals. Each facial will be customized to target the needs of that client.
𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴- Whether you’re someone who washes their face once a day in the shower or has a 14 step skin care routine, how often are you taking a closer look and really exfoliating those pores. Estheticians have many tools such as extractions to give you a deeper clean to target specific areas.
𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻- Have you ever tried to give yourself a shoulder or foot massage? It’s not the same as when someone else does it for you, right?
Facials include a facial massage which helps with blood circulation, boosts collagen production, skin elasticity and so much more. Plus in my opinion is the best part of the facial!
𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀- Everyone deserves to treat themselves every once in a while. Coming in to the spa you will be greeted with a relaxing atmosphere that you can truly disconnect from the real world for awhile. Having some time to yourself helps reduce anxiety levels giving you a refreshed feeling for the rest of your day!
With that being said let’s get you booked for your next facial!😉

Have you ever asked yourself why you continuously breakout in the same spots? Have you ever been discouraged with your skin care routine because that pesky pimple keeps coming back? Well, with face mapping you can learn why different flare ups of acne happen in different places.
___________
𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱: linked to the digestive system. Conditions such as IBS and lactose intolerance can show up on the forehead in forms of breakouts. Other factors include, stress, and excessive perspiration.
𝗘𝘆𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘀 & 𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀: linked to the liver and kidneys. Both of these vital organs are part of your body’s natural detox system. Making sure you are staying hydrated can help your body remove the toxins that could be clogging your pores.
𝗡𝗼𝘀𝗲: corresponds with the heart. This is a common place for pimples/blackheads to occur because the oil glands are larger. High blood pressure, salt intake and poor circulation can appear as acne on the nose.
𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀: are related to the lung and respiratory system. Breakouts may be related to allergies, poor air quality, or dirty pillow cases/cell phones.
𝗠𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵: the mouth and jawline both correspond with your hormones. Breakouts in these areas may relate to menstrual cycle, ovulation, hormonal imbalance or signs of stress.
𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻: is linked to your stomach and reproductive organs. Pimples in this area may be produced by dehydration, diet (such as greasy foods), and hormones.
🪩I hope this brings some clarity to those pesky pimples you may be having!🪩

🫧Spring cleaning…SKINCARE EDITION🫧
•Wash all your makeup brushes and sponges using an antibacterial soap and warm water.
• Take time for yourself once a week with something small like a 10 minute face mask.
• Pillow cases hold lots of bacteria and dead skin cells throughout the week. Wash them every 3-6 days to ensure fresher skin and hair.
• Book a spring facial to remove that dull winter skin and deep clean your pores.
• Toss out old/expired products that you no longer use.
• Skin care should not be the same all year long.
Switch to a lighter moisturizer in the spring/summer when the weather gets warmer to avoid skin becoming oversaturated.
🫧Happy Spring Cleaning!🫧
