There are two ways to start an aesthetic treatment.

Menu first: you pick from a price list and get what you picked. Assessment first: a physician starts with what you want to change and why, looks at your anatomy, skin, health and medications, and then recommends, or doesn't.

At Total Body Renewal, we start with the assessment.Which one have you had?

“Sometimes the best medical treatment is not to treat at all.” Dr. Kelly Wood, MD

At Total Body Renewal, aesthetics starts with an assessment, not a treatment menu. Your goals, your anatomy, your skin, your health and your medications come first.

You came in for one treatment. Here's what I look at before I say yes.

What you want to change, and why. Your anatomy. Your skin. Your overall health. The medications you take. All of it changes what makes sense for you.

Sometimes that means a different plan than the one you walked in with. Sometimes it means no treatment at all.

What's the treatment you've been curious about?

What actually fits in a 15-minute doctor's visit, and what doesn't.

A check-in, one or two concerns, a quick look at labs. It isn't about bad doctors. It's about a short clock.Weight, sleep, hormones, metabolism and muscle affect each other.

Connecting them takes time, so Dr. Kelly Wood built Total Body Renewal around it.

How long was your last visit?

If you've spent your whole life hearing "just try harder," I want you to hear this: your weight was never simply a willpower problem.

Obesity is a chronic disease. Genetics, hormones, sleep, medications, and the way your body regulates hunger all play a role. When a patient has high blood pressure, we don't tell them to try harder. We look at what's contributing, and we treat it.

I've watched patients get emotional when I explain this, because for the first time someone understands what they've been fighting.

So let's change the question. That's where treatment really begins.
