Bruising during a wax can happen sometimes, but it’s not always because your waxer did something wrong.

Things like pregnancy, blood thinners, sensitive skin, dehydration, and fragile capillaries can all make bruising more likely.

BUT proper technique matters too! Holding the skin tight before removal and pulling the wax parallel to the skin instead of upward is crucial to help prevent bruising, irritation, and skin lifting.

This is why going to a trained professional matters so much. It’s not as simple as wax on wax off.

Being a solo esthetician is wild because you don’t have coworkers hyping you up all day. There’s no
“girl your client’s skin looks AMAZING” or
“you’re fully booked because you’re THAT good”

Nope. It’s literally just you talking to yourself between appointments like, “Okay queen bee lock in.” 🐝

But honestly? I’ve learned you HAVE to make it fun. Dance between clients. Celebrate the small wins. Take the cute content. Hype yourself up after a good service. Romanticize the little things because nobody is going to pour into your business the way you do.

So yes, I absolutely talk to myself after a good service like I just won employee of the month!
