We had such a fun evening last night with families making and exploring music through games, art, and play Family Fun Fest! We are grateful to be part of this incredible community investing in families!

We utilize a WIDE variety of music experiences to learn and practice social skills in a natural and supportive environment! But how? I’m glad you asked…. Music is processed globally in ALL areas of the brain 🧠 and is both rhythmic and highly motivating which makes it a perfect environment for neuroplasticity (the ability of the brain to change). Not only is a music therapy environment perfect for attention and connection, but the experiences of passing and sharing instruments, playing together, taking turns and listening to others, opportunities for movement including body awareness and control, and a whole host of opportunities for improvisation and composition make music therapy a perfect environment for learning social skills!
