The Four G's

The Four G's

Share

Finally I am in a real live quartet, Four (or five) vocalists raising our voices as one to praise the Lord! Drop a message if you like that.

Was missing our usual soprano, Sherry Freeman, but I always consider five vocal parts to be gravy anyway. We survived with just four, Mama as the soprano, Tiye as the alto, and Uncle Kenny and I doing a very fast volley-ball like swing lead. It amazes me once again that the person I sound like most in the world is my Uncle Kenny who in some ways I have known for the shortest time. God leaves messages. Maybe I should absorb His musical wisdom while I have the chance. :)

The Four G's randomly sing at church lol when the Ghost leads us. Still the same roster, or it tends to be. God bless your endeavors, if they be righteous.

God times at church. Uncle Kenny made me really contemplate the nature of love and what it makes people do. I think that love comes in all shapes and sizes, and is rarely clean. But I appreciate every act of love because y'all didn't have to do good and you did against all odds. :) I appreciate me too. And our lead G Rev. Kenny Freeman, of course.

No news right now. Working on the song I'm leading. The art is real. I'll even ask the other G's to make their own background. Have it be real organic Gospel.

Got to sing with my Aunt Sherry in a community choir. Fun stuff hope she learned I certainly did. Now I will let you know the next time we sing together and how it goes. The backgrounds are the work of the Holy Ghost usually how I like.

The roster:
Sherry Freeman: soprano
Nia Imani: mezzo-soprano
Tiye Gaidi: alto/contralto
Sekou Gaidi: tenor/baritone
Kenny Freeman: lead/baritone, keyboard.

Sang at church the other day. Learned a lot about myself. On the song I'm leading, I'm gonna let the other voices make up a background.

The last practice was on Thanksgiving. And yes, I know we are a quartet with five members. God don't mind. He know we can't count lol. Be blessed!

Well pictures and videos upcoming as soon as I am updated. Tentatively we'll be singing next year so there's that. Hopefully my sister will be with us, maybe singing tenor. Who knows? But right now the Four G's are:
Sherry Freeman, soprano
Nia Imani, alto
Sekou Gaidi, tenor.
And of course my Uncle Kenny on the keyboard.
Now let's see if my sister comes through to the next practice. Can't even say if it will be four or five of us, but I know the Spirit of the Lord will be there, and prayerfully something will get a hold of us and amplify our efforts. :)

I am glad to be in the service of Father God, the One Wise God who wants the sweetest sacrifice of good deeds. Looking forward to practicing with my SATB quartet again. It's funny how our family falls right into where they need to be vocally. I am the cantus firmus. I have to hold the line so everyone else knows how to go. But we gotta get Uncle Kenny to stop playing for a minute and sing with us. Let's see if its Four G's or Five, or if we're just going to be the Four G's no matter how many people are in it. We'll see Lord Jesus...
