😍 Omg, these little garlic babies!! I’m a proud papa, as these are second generation bulbs planted from a crop I grew and cured last year!

First post in a long time! It’s been awhile, and I’ve been asking myself a lot of questions about how and why I want to show up in the world. I’ve been indulging some dark voices that tell me it doesn’t matter if I do. I’ve been struggling to accept myself. I’ve been craving a feeling of being embraced.

My intentions for this year, my last in my 30’s, are inspired by Renaissance. Comfortable in my skin. Cozy with who I am. I love myself god damn! I intend to lower my defenses, increase my pleasure and express myself damnit! Feel free to share some love, because we all need it 💓

Just a reasonable gallon of coffee to help get me back in the swing of things! So many pics and trip posts to come!! For now, it’s good to be back. Gotta save up for the next adventure!

Venezia: The food!
Obviously, I was very excited to eat in Italy! There were some real highlights. The best prosciutto I’ve ever had, ordered in my attempt at Italian, right from the butcher. Cicchetti (small bites of different tasty treats, served on slices of baguette) and Aperol Spritz, from a bustling canal-side bar. Incredible fresh seafood, at a family restaurant. There were also lots of stressful moments of feeling trapped by not great restaurants catered to the immense number of tourists.

Venezia: The Place.
A fascinating city. Improbable in its placement. Built in a lagoon. Constantly being rebuilt as the water laps away at it. Once a naval empire, and a trading capital. It withstood many empires conquering the lands all around it. Not built from the center out, but many islands growing into each other to become the city it is. Now a tourist playground. It is enchanting in its mazes, nooks and crannies. I loved getting lost here, imagining the people that lived and built the lavish palazzo and gardens. It is also sad and stressful to navigate the tourist “traps”, and see this incredible, impossible place become a theme park. My first taste of Italy, and I certainly want more. I will never forget this introduction.

It’s great to play with incorporating these into my work. Excited for the possibilities.

Happy to have spent some time with friends in Chicago. It still feels like home in some ways.

To my sweet, loving, sweet loving boyfriend of SIX years. We’ve been on some rad adventures! Climbed mountains, both literal and figurative. Laughed until we cried, and slapped each other over pizza. It’s been a journey, and the ride continues. Love you .adrian
