a few extra things factor into our decision to replace. if the seams of the wefts are weak, broken down, swollen or crinkling at the corner

they can become difficult to work with thus creating a not ideal installation or in some cases, damage

i recommend wefts be replaced every 6-8 months on average. i have some guests who prefer to start swapping out pieces for new before their rows become thinner. i also have some who wear their hair for almost a year and run it into the ground before getting a whole new set

i’m good with any of these options as long as the grow out is healthy 😊

that’s 3.25 visits per year

ktips are typically much less in salon maintenance…

BUT - full transparency, there’s more at home maintenance (making sure you separate the bonds) + cost tends to be higher per appointment (longer appts, replacing hair every appt, it’s a niche that many stylists aren’t trained in)

life has been on fast forward since school got out
