At JD Thomas & Co., we’ve always believed that our team and community are family—and right now, one of our own needs our support.
Earlier this week, a devastating earthquake struck the region in Colombia where our very own Val is from. As a JDT family, when one of us is hurting, we all lean in to help.
We are holding an immediate donation drive at the salon to send direct relief to the victims and families affected.

Location: Drop off directly at JD Thomas & Co.
All collected items will be brought directly to a local Colombian church, which is coordinating shipping straight to the victims in Colombia.

Time for a major makeover! Over-bleaching and hot tool abuse had taken their toll, so we transitioned her from over-processed blonde back to her rich, natural brunette—leaving it insanely glossy, deep, and healthy.
When you’re reversing heavy damage, formula structure, bond repair, and sealing the cuticle are everything. Here is the exact step-by-step breakdown:
✨ Step 1: Prepped with K18 Hair Molecular Repair Spray to rebuild hair strength from the inside out before color application.
✨ Step 2: Filled the hair using Goldwell US Colorance (7 vol | 9KG + 8GB). Processed and rinsed after 20 minutes to restore those essential warm undertones.
✨ Step 3: Applied milk_shake Hair Products Gloss Tones (6 vol | equal parts 7.83 & 6.83) to build rich depth.
✨ Step 4: Shampooed and applied the K18 Hair Molecular Repair Mask for 4 minutes to restore strength and elasticity.
✨ Step 5: Toned with milk_shake Hair Products Gloss Tones (6 vol | equal parts 6 & 7.1) for 20 minutes for a perfectly cool, dimensional finish.
✨ Step 6: Applied QOAT Hair Professional Color Topcoat for 5 minutes to seal in the color pigment, stabilize the hair fiber, and add next-level glass shine!

🌞 Summer Extension Alert: Your sunscreen might be ruining your hair!

If you notice your expensive extensions turning a strange shade of peachy-pink or bright orange, your sunscreen is likely the culprit.
Most traditional chemical sunscreens contain Avobenzone and Octocrylene. When these ingredients touch hair extensions, they trigger a chemical reaction that essentially rusts the iron minerals inside the porous hair shaft.
Here is how to save your hair this summer:
Switch to Mineral: Only use sunscreens with Zinc Oxide or Titanium Dioxide as the active ingredients.
Check the Label: If you see Avobenzone, keep it far away from your hair.
The Shoulder Transfer: Even if you don't spray your hair directly, extensions will pick up the chemical just by brushing against your shoulders and back.
Bun it Up: Put your hair in a high claw clip or bun before applying lotion, let it dry completely, and wash your hands before letting your hair down.
