Although benefits would still exist, the cuts would make it so your full deductible of $1250 would be paid out of pocket and coverage wouldn't kick in until almost all your allowed sessions are done.

Your voice to your union rep is the strongest tool we have. Please tell your people why massage is non-negotiable for your health.

The UUP has already ratified an agreement for 15 treatments for year and reduced reimbursement. Let's stop this.

Nyship is in trouble again. Some union contracts have already been ratified by UUP. And the same proposal is on the table for other unions. Please contact your union reps immediately!
Benefits for next year are essentially being cut down to nothing for massage and acupuncture. If you use these services to functionally manage your pain please tell them!

Proposed NYSHIP cuts! Action needed!

An opening proposal is being share by NY state, directed specifically at United University Professions (UUP), which represents faculty and staff within the SUNY system.

Just as importantly, UUP has already stated publicly that they do not accept this proposal and intend to fight to retain access to these benefits. That matters.

What this means is that we are in an active negotiation window—and this is exactly when input can make a difference.

Patients, if you, your friends or family are UUP members please share with your union reps the impact that massage has on you and your health. Real patient voices carry weight in these decisions. The infographic shared by our biller is a great way to get the conversation started.
