After fighting Ovarian cancer most of last year and then learning I was having a recurrence, I came to the difficult decision to retire. Those last couple weeks before surgery I was having to jostle and reschedule my clients at the last minute and that’s so disrespectful to their time and I knew it would be nearly impossible to schedule going forward. Add on top of that, I’ve literally got the fight of my life ahead of me and I knew it was time to step away and focus on healing.

I have clients that have been with me from the beginning, probably when they should have left and found somebody with better skills😂, but are still with me. I cannot thank you all enough for your love, support, and trust you bestowed on me over the years. I’m truly grateful to you all and I will miss you more than you know!

When it’s your 13th birthday- on a Friday- you get your mom to bring you to the salon for some blonde highlights! It’s so rare to have pristine, untouched hair that I was absolutely giddy with excitement and confidence that she would get that bright blonde she wanted! She was excited and so was I with our results!

When that color pops on straight hair, it’s gonna explode on curled! You’ve got something good when it looks good straight or curly. We decided to run a deep, rich red through this auburn copper base and combine with fewer chunkier highlights. We were both excited with this result- it was better than it was in my mind!

I LOVE when I get to do something creative and fun! I’ve been doing this awesome gals haircuts for several years and she approached me about doing something fun with color. She sent her inspiration pictures and told me to do what I thought would be best. We did a chunky color block of platinum on half the front section, some peek-a-boo highlights on the other half of the front section and underneath in the back, and on the sides- a highly requested raccoon stripe. Her hair lifted beautifully and her color is so electric the pictures don’t do it justice. I absolutely love bringing your color dreams to reality.

Spring is here and people are beginning to give their hair that spring refresh! A fresh partial set of highlights was all that was needed to bring this hair to life- sometimes you don’t need to reinvent the wheel to get maximum results. I can’t wait to work with you to find the best look for your budget and lifestyle.

This client decided we had actually gotten “too blonde” and needed more dimension throughout her hair. We’ve been working on growing out her natural lowlights in order to contrast with her super blonde tone. Even though I don’t like photographing hair pics inside (lighting, glare of windows, etc.) I had to capture this one! The lowlights throughout her hair just emphasizes the brightness of her blonde now and she loves it.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again- I absolutely LOVE when I get to play with red colors! This is a a rich auburn base with copper and gold highlights and it’s straight up fire! It may be cold outside, but we can definitely warm up your haircolor to make you feel alive in the coldest part of winter.

We wanted to do something rich and “fall-ish” with her hair this time…I think we nailed the assignment!

As a natural redhead, I personally prefer “natural” red hair colors- specifically the rich coppers and auburns. When I tell you I’m absolutely IN LOVE with this - I mean it! When clients tell me they love red hair but it would look horrible on them, I assure them that there is ALWAYS a shade somewhere in the red family that will look fabulous on them- because it’s true! This client has a cool complexion with rosy tones. I knew the coppers and reds wouldn’t compliment her features but she loves the richness of the reds. So we decided to go with the intense depth of violet and break it up with a peach ribbon highlight. Three different levels of custom formulations were melted together to make the final result- and I couldn’t be more excited about it.

Red, copper, auburn, cowgirl copper- WHATEVER you want to call it, it’s 🔥🔥🔥! The perfect tones to compliment her beautiful skin tone and dark chocolate eyes- she really should have been born a redhead. It took 4 different colors to create this beauty that looks so realistic and not like a “bottle red”. And of course, anytime I get to play in these shades my heart is so full and happy.

This is one of those times I HATE I didn’t do a before picture!!! This client had been having some health issues that were affecting her hair. She had mid-back long hair but it had increasingly thinned and broken and was looking limp and (for lack of a better word) stringy. Needless to say we had worked through this issue with all we had until the day came to just start over fresh. She had lots of healthy new growth but what was coming in didn’t match the ends so we got rid of those ends! Fresh highlights, a mild shadow root and some lowlights and that fresh haircut completely revived this head of hair and both of our spirits.

It’s totally a myth that your haircolor needs to change with the seasons, if you want to be bright in the fall and winter or dark in the summer it’s totally up to you! But if you want to be bright blonde- but darker- then some subtle lowlights are just what you need! And you can always play with the underneath with darker colors without changing that beautiful bright blonde that you love, like we did here. Hair color is personal and are only important to you! Do what makes YOU happy!
