Sometimes I don’t post every photo I take — and it usually has nothing to do with the hair itself 🤍

A lot goes into getting a good hair photo besides the actual color/install/style:
• lighting
• angles
• framing
• movement
• camera focus
• background
• timing

Sometimes the hair is PERFECT and the photo just… isn’t 😂

As stylists, we’re trying to capture dimension, tone, shine, texture, and detail in one tiny moment, and occasionally the camera works against us.

I’m just picky about the photos I share — and apparently occasionally bad at holding my phone correctly too

I’m Mitzie, and you can find me Behind the chair I love creating beautiful hair, specializing in reds/brunettes/extensions, and looks that make people feel confident while still feeling like themselves. Outside of the salon, I love traveling, music, cars & late night drives, my cats, and spending time with the people I love. I’m definitely always doing something fun

Same blonde. Different lighting ✨

Lighting has a HUGE impact on how blonde hair looks both in person and on camera. Warm indoor lighting can make blondes appear creamier, warmer, or more golden, while daylight usually shows a brighter and more neutral tone.

Neither is inaccurate — the lighting is just pulling different tones forward 🤍

This is why your blonde might look different in the salon, your car, your bathroom mirror, and your selfies 🫶🏻

The biggest misconception about extensions? That they damage your natural hair… let’s clear that up 🫶🏻

There are so many extension methods—tape-ins, sew-in wefts, keratin bonds, I-tips—and new techniques are constantly evolving. So where does the “damage” narrative come from?

Improper installation and poor at-home care.

Installation is everything. When done correctly, extensions should actually support your hair goals—helping you maintain length, add fullness, and even protect your natural hair. Aftercare is just as important, because what you do at home makes all the difference in keeping your hair healthy.

Extensions should never make your hair feel worse—they should elevate it.
