I recently had this conversation with a good friend about the difference between hiring a bridal stylist for your wedding day vs hiring a non-bridal stylist ....

And what prompted the conversation was, she recently had her hair done in the salon and she said it was frizzy and her curls fell in 1 hour.

And honestly - the short version of my answer - I have over 10 years of experience to make sure the hair stays put through sweat, heat, humidity, wind, rain, movement, and touching. I took many classes dedicated to wedding day beauty. The hair prep is different. The knowledge behind the beautification process is different. The styling part is just half of what bridal stylists learn. We have to be confident in the planning, timing, scheduling, and the 'oh sh*t' emergencies.

One thing I LOVE about being a bridal hairstylist is that we have a canvas of hair that can create pretty much any hairstyle.

Lately, I've been getting adjectives like "tossled", "texture", "lived-in" which kind of translated to the style above that my bride and I created.

While I love creating clean, elegant, and polished looks, the relaxed vibes are just as rewarding to create! Complete opposites, but also take the same amount of time to create!

How do you know if these vibes and elements are for you:

-You like a relaxed look, not too done up
-You like movement and the idea of being able to touch your hair
-You don't mind a little frizz and texture, not every strand has to be in place
-You like the tossled overall effect

Here are a few things I always have my brides consider:

✨️ Does the artist's work resignate with you? Is their work the look you are going for? More importantly, do you see your inspiration look in their portfolio?

✨️ Can you see yourself with this artist's style? You wouldn't go to an Italian restaurant and order Chinese food. Same with the makeup & hair.

✨️ The energy & vibe is so important! Make sure you set up a call or a zoom call to talk about your vision! Interview your artist! The vibes have to align on both parts - sometimes the vision is there, but the energy and understanding can be off!
